Sarah Marquis, a Swiss adventurer, is renowned for her solo expeditions in challenging terrains. From a daring childhood to crossing Central Anatolia on horseback at seventeen, she developed a passion for exploration.

Notable journeys include walking the Pacific Crest Trail in 2000 and a 14,000-kilometer trek through the Australian outback in 2002-2003. In 2010-2013, she walked 20,000 kilometers from Siberia to Australia, facing various challenges. Named National Geographic's Adventurer of the Year in 2014, Marquis continued with a surviving expedition in Australia in 2015.

Despite a broken shoulder, she explored Tasmania in 2018, searching for the Tasmanian Tiger. Marquis embodies a spirit of adventure, emphasizing that it's a state of mind, showcased in her books like "Wild by Nature."
