We heard the promo and clearly fell in love with the track Makalu part of a three track EP to be released next week. While many in the industry try to specialize on one certain sound, we want to break the tunnel vision and show the world great variation of music, while maintaining the most important ingredient, that truly embodies the sound of Nie Wieder Schlafen : Atmosphere. Kotu take you into the deepest realms of organic resonances, with the focus on mesmerizing percussions and tribal drum patterns. The original tracks are complemented by a remix from Kincaid & Sinàl, who recently joined the family. „Skoura“ is a percussion focused production, that is based around a minimal, but strong groove. Screams & giggles of hyenahs are present throughout the track and help transport you to a distant land. Organic drum arrangements keep up the dynamics in this minimalistic track, which slowly evolves into a hypnotic ride, pulling you in with its details. While the vibe remains, the dynamics change quite drastically in „Makalu“. A production led by a variety of interesting leads including a lovely vocal sample, harmonic pads & a rather striking bassline that achieves to create a sound of the wild. Kotu builds on the minimalistic drum groove of Skoura with beautiful ethereal elements only to hit you with clear drum drops, that will melt together with the natural atmosphere of this track. At last, we invited Kincaid & Sinàl to create a track, that truly pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved in electronic music : The guys were able to rework the Original in a way that is not only fascinating, but utterly unique. Not a single part of the remix seems the same, as the track is continiously progressing and changing. It feels as if you are never in one place for too long. From dark basslines, to mysterious & intimate sections, up to high pitched synths work...this remix has it all. A true trip, created with passion & professionel craft, through its entire runtime.
