…It's talking about the death not being able to hold Jesus. But then it says, “God raised him up, loosening the pangs of death.” So it's like this mixed metaphor where death is seen as giving birth. And because of Jesus, death had to give birth to life. It couldn't do anything else, but deliver life because it's Jesus who died.
- Lianna Davis
In this episode, Kristin Hernandez is joined by Lianna Davis to discuss the hope the resurrection of Jesus holds for believers, the bodily resurrection we too will experience one day, and how this can provide particular comfort to those who have lost a baby. Lianna shares her story of walking through the death of her firstborn daughter, Noelle, how her relationship with God grew during that season, and of the hope she found in the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Lianna Davis is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute (BA) and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MATS). She is the author of Made for a Different Land: Eternal Hope for Baby Loss, has written a Bible study on the book of Jude, and has contributed to various published works and websites. Lianna makes her home in Illinois with her husband and second daughter. Her firstborn enjoys glory.
