Of someone were to ask you what the gospel is, how would you respond? This week, someone came up to you and asked you, what is the gospel? What would you say? Thankfully, we're not left our own devices here. God's word has provided that answer, which is a very important one for us. First Corinthians 15, starting in verse one. Paul says, "Now I would remind you, brothers, "of the gospel I preached to you, "which you received, in which you stand, "and by which you are being saved. "If you hold fast to the word, "I preached to you unless you believed in vain." So here, 15 chapters in to this letter Paul reminds them of the gospel that he's preached to them to Christians. Even though he'd already been laying that out for them, he now explicitly shares with them what the gospel message is. Starting in verse three. For I delivered to you as of first importance, but I also received that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures. So this is the gospel message, Christ's death, and his resurrection, his death for sinners on their behalf and his resurrection. That is the gospel message. That is the message. Gospel means good news. And so the message itself is very simple. Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead. That is the gospel message. And at the same time, this simple message is very profound. This simple message is very, very profound. And so this is the desire in this series, the gospel from all angles, because the gospel is like a diamond. There's so many different angles to it.
