Reconnecting faith to the marketplace. Community problems can only be truly solved by adding faith. Now, local leaders come together to solve tough problems while advancing the kingdom on Good News Talk. Living down, there's a lot of us men pushed around, ready out of black and white and brown, with a tear on their bones. Oh, can't you see, why you're picking on society? Let the living on the down the tree, I'm calling you to come home. You're the keeper of the Catholics, your fathers to the children, the providers of all their daily needs. Like a sovereign Lord, protect us, be their destiny, direct them, and tell you where to follow where you leave. Now, here's your host, Mike Hennessey. And good day, this is Mike Hennessey. Welcome to Good News Talk, where we're reconnecting faith to the marketplace. Solving the chronic cultural problems we face requires mind, body, and spirit, or faith. The world tries to solve problems without faith, and they're only treating the symptoms, never addressing the root causes. And today, we're connecting faith to city politics and drug addiction and recovery. And studio with me is Jake Bishop, he's the director of the Desiou and Gengliou, Gengliou, say that. Gengelou. Gengelou. It's a good pasta too. Come on, I'm half Italian, I should have gotten at least close on that one. So the Desiou and Gengelou Foundation, a reformed addict and felon, he works in the city combating the drug epidemic, sex trafficking, and now a city council candidate, also a former radio talk show host. Welcome, Jake. Now tell us a little bit behind the scenes, what should listeners know about Jake that wasn't in that intro? You're a good light man, I need you around any time I just walk in the room there, who would definitely help on the campaign. I think just for people to know that I like to listen to everybody, it's either side of the aisle, I say it's less about which side you stand on. More about where you are with the people that matters most, so I'm always interested to learn and listen to every side. That being said, I'm very grateful to have the Rochester Republican City Committee give me a nomination, especially with being able to have a running mate like Marcus Williams, who came on your show, and it was a pleasure to listen to him and see what he had to say too. But I guess that's what I would really like listeners to understand. I'm always an open ear first. So I'm curious, who is leading the city, is there a leader of the city Republican party, or is that just fall under the county? You know what, I really didn't realize that there was like, the hierarchy was divided between so much, between legislator, also city. I do know that a lot of the guys I call the shots to come from the county, some of them I've had the pleasure of meeting, some of them came to my day over, Akavite when I made my announcement. So the leadership, I feel, which is much different than the Democrats, is shared pretty well between people. Well, I know that the towns have local committees in each town, I wasn't aware of a city committee, doesn't mean there isn't one that's separate on its own funding or whatever. I know that Pat Riley is stepping down from the county chair, and I know that Phyllis Wickerham is running for that position. And Pat was a good man, I like Pat, his career is taking him to North Carolina. I thought he did a great job stepping in for Bernie, Akavangelo. And Phyllis Wickerman is, you'd like Phyllis, if you haven't met her, she's very engaged in the communities. Right now she runs the United Federation for Republican Women, and she's constantly doing things with us here at Youth for Christ and with our God's Girls programs, and doing a lot of work in the community, and helping non for profit, so I know that that's something that's dear to your heart. Who's on the ground leading to the front? I love a lesson like that. Amen. So I don't know if who's running against her, if anybody, but I wish her all the best. And I plan to reach out and Phyllis, if you're listening, I'm going to reach out and heavy on the show soon. Good luck, Phyllis. Amen. And so, you know, I don't know how well aware you are. I worked with poverty and homelessness and addiction for 11 years at Open Door Mission. Tell us a bit about that journey. How important, and how important was your faith component to your recovery? You know, it's one of those things about recovery. People hear a voice. People have someone speak to them and give them advice. And I think I might have heard a little voice for years in my head. People guiding me, mentors. I think it's a very humbling experience. I consider myself reformed in a lot of ways, but I think it all started when I was, you know, my teens are experimenting. You're trying things. I was in an area where a lot of students, a lot of kids were, you know, had access to drugs, had access to liquor. Marijuana wasn't as much my thing. And I guess I had some experiences with some trauma, then I just tried to, you know, change the quality of my life through drugs, which never has a happy ending to it. No, no, it doesn't. And, well, I also, you know, I was with it. We had a... Thank you for your work, too, by the way. Long-term, you're welcome. It was my pleasure to work at Open Door Mission and work with addiction. You know, we had a one-year residential drug and alcohol addiction recovery program. And to me, I don't know how anybody recovers from anything without faith. I think that, you know, we'd always get 10 new guys in the program every year. And after we got into it for three months, you know, eight of the guys would say, "I've been to 20 of these programs and nothing worked until I got here." And I knew that was because somebody finally injected faith into your recovery program. And to me, I mean, especially opioids, I don't even want to deal with fentanyl. We're dealing with fentanyl at the time. But you need something, I believe you need something outside yourself. When you're in that type of deep, chronic, long-term addiction, it's almost impossible to will yourself out of it. You need something bigger than you. So, service to me, service to others, meeting with people who maybe I didn't share the same faith with, but were shared in the same interest of being able to do good. And fortunately, after years of service, it actually started off going down to Saratoga and making meals for a lot of the homeless people down there, like eight o'clock, nine o'clock at night. And I wasn't sure what I was looking for. I just knew I knew how to cook a nice Italian sausage and a little marinara put it out there and feed it to people. And you just welcomed a new spirit of me. I think it's widely known that even outside of the faith world, if you're feeling depressed, go help somebody. That's the best way to eliminate feeling depressed about yourself. Go help somebody. You know, be grateful for what you have and go help somebody. So, running as a Republican in the city has its big challenges. So, how do you think your approach to it will change things? You know, what do you think is going to, what are you going to do different to get the city to pay attention to a Republican for the first time in 50 years? It's 50 years now. We need to hear the phone first. Maybe 45. 50 years. Well, I think part of it is knowing that I want to lead a little bit from the front. Just kind of like what you were talking about and some of the work you've done and some of the work that Phyllis has done. Being out there in the community, feeding encampments. One of the things that got me started in this campaign was meeting some of the veterans that were under an underpass. And I went with the mission continues, which I'm on the board for. And it was Jeff Messinger and my friend Mo, both Marines. And they were very upset to hear that a lot of the veterans were on the street. And the encampments, the sweep by the mayor's office, were taking people out of those areas and removing all their things. And I said, all right, let's go feed them. Let's go take care of them. Let's go talk to them. So thank you to News 8, 10 and 13 who came down on a cold night to be able to listen and learn and more importantly talk to the people that were really suffering there. So I'm hoping when people see this with me and the campaign, they get an idea that I want to be injected into the areas that are the worst. I can't stand being in an office. I would really like to be somebody that goes out there with the people. And moreover, there's a big enough burden on the people in the city here. I'm not taking any campaign donations from the public. Yeah, I'm definitely going to ask you more about that as we get closer to the close. But how's one party democratic rule working in our city? I think I said it before. The criminals in the city are working harder than the elected officials that are here right now to be able to take over. I know for a fact I've seen it. I've been on East Ave. I live down there. See two murders outside there. My friends' businesses that were down there too. Within less than a block, police were there. And I think it's... Wait, East Ave? East Ave and right on South Union. Right outside, yeah. Okay, all right, got you. The business is there. Yeah. Shootings went off. People were running out. It was a scary time. Still is. The car was broken into twice. And mind you, not at 3 AM in the morning. We're talking about 3 PM in the afternoon. They have no respect for law. And I think a lot of criminals are looking down. I think even other criminals are like, "Okay, take it easy a little bit." At least make a profit or something. You're just out there over playing in our hand. Yeah. Well, these kids were just breaking 40 windows in a night. They weren't even taking anything. Little more arc gallery. They were just smashed. Yeah. What was it? Jiva. You can't even go with it. Jiva. Hey, RMSC on East Avenue. Yeah. Park Avenue neighborhood. You know, it's not as, you know, anybody that thinks that this isn't going to, isn't going to affect you in the suburbs. This isn't fair. This isn't wild. This isn't doing it. Right. Right. Right. So how will you advocate for criminal justice reform? You're on your fly. Your first order of business is to, is to advocate for criminal justice. I call it deform reform. So what, uh, yeah, take it. You can have it. Make it, make it give me a quarter for every time you say it. How will you advocate for criminal justice reform? Because we've had our, we have our second 11 year old caught and crashed and stolen cars in our city. No charges. No family court referral. How, how will you make a difference with criminal justice reform? I think some of the things that have to be said is that, you know, the position on council is, is in the limelight. And I like to be able to be malleable with the position. I think it means using a city council position to speak with other lawmakers, coordinate an effort to be able to reform. And I'm not talking about threatening people. It takes two wings to fly. Democrats and Republicans. We've worked together in the past. We can do it again. I think there's enough evidence to show that, hey, it needs to be amended for bail reform. There needs to be some circumstances where we can alleviate that. And a few of the judges that I've worked with in the past, and I've spoken to, their hands are tied. Just like the RPD, like their hands are tied. A lot of these judges, because they only have stipulations and paperwork that say, I have to release this person. It's part of the law. I think we should just take another look at that. Yeah. And the sheriff has, with his consortium of safe communities does have a bill written. They have a law to propose that's now written. That makes it a clean bill. That makes it, because that's the other thing the judges will tell you is it's the law is so unequivocal. It's so blurry. I don't know how to make the right decision or the right call and what my authority is. But we know they don't have a clean right to hold somebody on a dangerous standard on a repeat, a violent repeat offender. The law is so ambiguous, they don't even know if they can hold that guy. Listen, you've got to be like a get-go as a judge to look at those paperwork. Your eye has to wander through the page to be able to understand it. You've got to make a clean bill. And they have one. But our New York state assembly, every assembly person, every senator, will honestly address it. How do we begin to hold this New York state delegation accountable to doing something to advocate for changing and adjusting this law? I'm glad you asked that. I think it starts with the victims. I think it starts with the families. Being able to have them in a room together and put something where we can say these are the people affected. These are the lives that are endangered. The victims have not had a voice enough. I think we've seen it on the news. It's going to be on Facebook, you're going to see on Instagram. But we need some faces, we need some stories, and we need people more importantly to understand what it's doing long term. Okay, so you break the window. It's a broken window theory. The broken window theory, you have a broken window, then it becomes a piece of garbage. And the house goes, well, can't say that word, but it goes downhill pretty fast in an area. I think we need to make sure that it's out there in the public enough. We need that kind of opinion out there. I think you're right. I think that the only way that they're going to listen is if they get enough of their constituencies in their face. It's got to be their face-to-face. I'm not saying you have to yell, but we need a presence. I always say people who yell, like what's her name, Mary Lupian. She goes over there and gets on the national news yelling at the vice president. People are saying she's a hero. But listen, raising your voice and getting loud might get your attention, but it's not going to gain anyone's respect. Just ask one of your kids when they do that next time before dinner and see how far you are impressed with them. Not to mention the fact that she goes down to Washington to harass our vice president about Black Rock and Vanguard, these big corporations buying single family homes in Rochester. This lady spent at least the last two years driving private landlords out of our city with the good cause of fiction. Now complaints that corporations are buying the homes that these landlords are fleeing from. Yeah, I don't get it either. I'm one of those people that I say there's no corporation that's going to move in with 80 million or 100 million and change everything in Rochester. I do believe it needs to be done block by block. But in that part, I don't have that kind of connection with her. Yeah, I mean, they're not interested in living there. They're going to sell them and they're going to sell them to the highest bidder. And if there's nobody bidding for them because people don't want to move into the city, it's not going to be single families moving into these single family homes because most people are fleeing the city still. So if you can't get a landlord to come in and rent it, then you really have no market for those homes. Yeah, I've got a buddy, Brian, who owns Capone's Italian eatery, he gives 4,000 pounds of food away in the year, loves helping out people, gives food away volunteers, doesn't ask for a thing. If he was selling his business, but it was on fire and he's trying to go over there and sell the business, nobody would want it. If the city of Rochester is having problems, it's basically on fire and you're telling people I want you to invest, they're not going to do it. They'll be like, you're crazy. What other issues besides crime and low income housing or having a significant impact on our city? I think what people don't realize is how important human trafficking is in Rochester. Well, how important is to combat it? Rochester's a hub. Whether it's the Bright Star Women's Shelter with Sue Kirby, whether it's working with Miss Julie's School of Beauty, there are violent criminals out there that attack women, use them for a purpose like a drug, but the only difference is the drug doesn't get used up. I mean, the woman doesn't get used up. I mean, I've had the benefit of working with Angels of Mercy, Bethany House on their board. Everyone has been affected so greatly by human trafficking. I mean, I hate to use that term, but it's slavery. Our federal government over the last four years has lost, I think the last number that I heard was 325,000 kids who were smuggled into this country, paid for by families or cartels. They were brought into the community through the open border. They were handed off to an NGO and the NGO sent them out to all points across the country and then lost track of them. And I believe that a lot of the kids that came up across the border illegally that got handed off to an NGO, I think a lot of them ended up being that they would come with someone who was supposed to be with them. They're not related. We weren't checking any DNAs. We weren't holding them because the optics looked bad when you hold kids and try to get a DNA to find out who the parent is. So the optics looked bad, so we didn't do that. And we just sent them, and I think we sent them to a lot of them, these 325,000 that we lost. At least half of them went to other cartel members throughout the country, whether it's one of these gangs in Colorado or in New York City, and they're being trafficked. I think people need to understand. I worked with Judge Yachten. I was over at Bayton Street Settlement. I worked as a care manager and peer engagement specialist, which just means I have life experience and wanted to be able to coordinate medical services for some of the ladies. And through Safecord, I met a lot of them that were right in Penfield or Gates. It's wide open. It's everywhere. It is everywhere. Thank you for sharing that. I didn't know all the statistics. It's amazing. These kids are lost, and they're still lost. They need to be found and taken care of. The other thing that I think about is our schools are graduating 5% of our students with 12th grade reading and math. 95% are not there. 50% at least are graduating with elementary levels and reading and math. So I know it's rooted in fatherless homes, but how do we change the incentivization of fatherlessness through our welfare system? Or that's my question. What do you think we need to do? What has to change in order to get our kids graduating at 12th grade reading and math levels? When you ask me about what does it mean for family ties and faith, and I think we just go on right back to what is traditional values and being able to inject that in the community. I feel like if people felt like they were safer, they're more likely to go to church. They're more likely to walk the church, have block parties, talk about communities, and feel like they can be in a neighborhood where, well, maybe you know what? I think if there's a job available, maybe I'll have a father who stays there longer. If I have a place where I don't have to worry about an 11-year-old speeding through in the downtown area killing somebody or shooting a dog, which I just saw this morning out of for no apparent reason, I think it would allow people a little bit of a little levity. No, you're absolutely right because we talk about what we do here with our basketball program as we create a safe sanctuary and a Christ culture. And what it does is by having a strict code of conduct, by having boundaries for the kids, by not letting them be on their phones, by having a controlled atmosphere, it really allows the kids for the first time all week to act their age and be a kid. Yeah, yeah. Like we said, act their age because I feel like this is what happens. There is a facade that needs to be put on. It's a protection. It's an element of, you know, these kids put the hoods and the masks and the things on. And a lot of it is protection. I'm scared. When I see a kid like that who's loud and angry, like when I was down the street, there's a bunch of them besides open-door mission, running around, they get the masks on, and I can tell those are kids that live in fear. I know who you're talking about. Yeah, because these kids, not only that, but these kids have to think strategically out there. You know, they have to decide, you know, whether they're going to go down to that store with that two bucks and buy some candy and chips or wait until it gets light again because it's not safe. You know, I know I know a 14 year old kid that was a friend of a kid who was part of this program who he was the first kid murdered in 2023 in January, walking to the store to get rice and noodles for his family at the corner store. He's just doing all the right things, just running an errand for his parents, and he was mistaken identity. You know, it was, they thought he was somebody else. He was a tall kid. He was like six foot 14 years old. And he's dead now. And he was just a kid trying to do the right thing. And that's the other thing I like to point out to people. You know, everybody in Penfield and then the suburbs think that the whole city's in chaos, it's 10% of the kids who are causing all this chaos. The other 90% of these kids are just keeping their heads down and trying to get through life. When you said strategically, I feel like people do need to understand on the campaign trail when I'm visiting people and I'm talking with them, whether it's Democrat or Republican, I'm hearing the same thing. Hey, we have good families. We have good people. We just have to make adjustments in our life accordingly to be able to survive. Yeah, you know, I love the quote Willie Lightfoot. He'll come in and talk about talk about, you know, we used to have in the neighborhood, it used to be the grand, all the grandmas used to direct traffic from their porches all summer long, right? But now, if the grandmas are to direct traffic from their porches during the summer, they're going to get their house shot up. You know, it's absolutely, it's absolutely out of control. So, and that's what we try to do here is create a safe environment, a safe sanctuary here at youth for Christ. And that's what has to happen in our city. I guess, how do we get there? I really want to be able to connect with you guys, I guess. I think that's one of the best things I need to step up to. Yeah, I think you should come on a Friday night and speak to the kids. It's good for them to hear a city council candidate and hear from these kids too. These kids will give you an earful about what they're feeling like out there. Everyone's an expert in their own neighborhood. And I think, in fact, since we mentioned Open Door Mission earlier too, I'll be staying there overnight with a couple of friends of mine that I said I wanted to be able to experience and see what it was like. And I contacted Anna, the CEO, who was a pleasure. I hired Anna. I always tell people, if you think she's smart, I hired her. Amen, no, she's doing a great job over there. And I love that you're doing stuff like that. That's an honorable and noble work. And we need more honorable and noble work going on for those that we elect into office. It's people, you know, there's too many are in for their own futures and their own prosperity. And we need more people that are out there for the people, not just the people, but the least of these. You know, you're out there being with the least of these. That's where Jesus would be. If Jesus were walking here today, he'd be spending a lot more time down at the Open Door Mission than he would be up at the state Capitol. I mean, so I did get a little trouble saying that. We got one of our events stopped by the mayor's office. We wanted to be able to give way backpacks and kids and food to kids from Maplewood. And they said, if you do that, we'll send the police down. You don't have the right permits. I said, I've been doing this five years. And I did say, I'm the news. I said, we have corrupt politicians who are more concerned about their political motivations than their moral obligations. Well, the government doesn't want you guys kicking them off to decide. They want to be them. They want everybody dependent on them. That's why they don't like faith. They want to be God. They want to be God to you. They want anybody dependent on them. Anybody that helps them out without getting paid, they're threatened by. So you got to get your taste. So listen, you are running an Orthodox campaign. You're not out asking for money the way most do. So how can folks support you? Yeah, please check it out over at Jake Bishop and City Council or go to Instagram and look at Jake Bishop. I just like to have people get in touch with me through social media. The website will be up soon. I think we already bought the name. I think it was Jake Bishop for numerical city council. If anybody wants to reach out, my number is 585-536-7861. I don't just lose my phone number over here on this, but yes, I like sharing it with people because text me. Especially if you disagree with me, give me a chance to be able to speak with you and see if I can help. Folks, we need to hire common sense, traditional values, pro police candidates to City Council. We cannot afford anymore Marxist progressives. We've got three out of nine now. We can't let Willie Lightfoot seat's a moderate man, a moderate Democrat, a pastor. We can't let his seat go to the extreme left. And we can't let any seat go to the extreme left. So guys like Jake need to get your support. Guys like Marcus Williams need to get your support. And thank you for throwing your hat and ring and running. Appreciate you. Alright folks, we're just going to lead us to our first Bible quote of the week and it's Luke 7 and 47. This is Mary Magdalene pouring perfume on Jesus' feet. Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven for she loved much, but to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little. When God delivered you from addiction, poverty and homelessness, your love capacity grows, those who have been forgiven much, love much more. An S brought to you by Odell Family Chiropractic. This is Mike Hennessy with Good News Talk and we just had a very enlightening conversation with Jake Bishop. He's running for city council. He runs a foundation and he loves to talk about the fact that he's a former addict and recovered addict. He's a former felon. I meant to ask him what his felony history was but I didn't get there. I'm sure he's open to talking about it because he's very open about his past and his history and why he is out there wants to run for city council. I can tell you that I've been watching him on social media for a couple years and he is constantly out serving in the community. Serving at places like Bethany House, serving at places like open dormers and serving at places like all these different places where the last at least in the lost go. He's kind of setting up his campaign the way Justin Collins is setting up his recruiting for police. He's not recruiting anybody for police that isn't willing to go into the community for a year and actually serve those that they're going to be actually helping and serving as police officers and they're getting to know the community first. They're getting to learn the community first. They're getting to build relationships with the community first and then you become a cop and then you come back with the uniform on and they respect you already because you've already shown that you care about them. You're there to serve them and be a guardian over them, not there to persecute them. You still have to have a warrior's heart but you need to be more of a servant first to do that job these days. So, very grateful for Jake and pray that he wins. Again, we desperately need men like him on city council. We got to keep this city council away from any more progressive Marxists that are trying to turn the city into a gulag of some kind. But we're going to go to what I'm going to do is I'm going to do my new feature. It's called pardon my rant. It's on the top issues of the week, local and national. I'm going to start with locally. How about our governor? Not only firing the 2000 correction officers for wanting to be safe in their jails and to be home with their kids once in a while, but to ban them from serving in any civil service job in the state. That's pure evil, folks. That's Jezebel evil. Go look it up. Go look up Jezebel in the Bible and you can read all about what that means. These guys, they can't go get a job for their local highway department. They can't go get a job anywhere if it's a civil service state job. They can't go work for a little county jail or a town jail or become a cop in their village because a hokel is going to do everything in their power to prevent them from doing that. Now, I don't know if you can. I think there definitely has to be some constitutional New York State Constitution practical ways that, and I don't think she has the right to keep men or women from serving the state in that capacity. But I think somebody should test it. I think that there is a Oneida County wanted to hire some of these guys and they're going to hire them and let her take them to court. And I think they'll win. I think they will. But that's just pure evil on the part of our governor to not only fire these men who are just trying to be safe in the jail and be with their families a couple hours a week is just pure evil. We just saw what's new this week is an attack by the convicted felon, murderer, cop killer who killed Officer Markowitz. I hope I got that right. Just a guard being attacked by this guy out of nowhere out of the blue. And that's what's happening every day in these jails. And it has to be it has to be halted by halting the halt act has to stop. You have to be able to punish and reprimand guys that do violence in the jail. So, you know, I'm praying Tom Holmans, our new borders are for the Trump administration. He was in New York this week. I hope he hires every single one of these guys for ICE. And then I hope he parades them out in front of her office window in Albany. I'll get a parade permit if you have to, but I'm hoping that a lot of these guys can get hired by ICE and go work right in Albany where the governor can see him. We talked earlier on the show with Jake about city council member who hit CNN with a hysterical rant about corporations buying single family homes. But you've got to understand that she's been the one for the last two years driving private landlords out of the city with this good cause eviction rule, you know. And so now you're complaining. So you drive the private landlords out of the city and then complain that corporations are buying the single family homes. It's the hypocrisy is maddening out there. And she's running for mayor, I understand. You know, and then what about the fiasco in Greece? Feds are actually investigating the town government for placing GPS devices. I think up to three of them on several of their opposition's cars. People that are complaining about the government get a GPS tag put on their car so they can follow you and see what you're doing. You know, it's time for the boss hog era to end in Greece. Let's get some honest people in there. Amen. And, you know, and I know, listen, that's a Republican supervisor. I just want honest people in there. Run the government. Be fair. Nationally, we'll go to national now, our local state governor candidate who ran against a whole couple years ago and got within 6% of beating her. I'd love to see her him and his EPA career early come back and run against her again because now with big swaths of New York City, including Brooklyn and Bronx and a lot of African Americans and Hispanics swung from blue to red this year, I think that if Lee Zeldin were to run against her again, with 6% two years ago would win this year with that 20% shift in major portions of New York City. But the local state governor can he took a he's he's the EPA director now under the Trump administration, and he started chainsawing at the EPA. First, he found a $20 billion slush fund that was parked just before Biden left office for eight newly formed NGOs, non governmental organizations, some which were assigned to Tracy Abrams. It Tracy Abrams run agencies, you know, that's the governor who was an election denier in her own governor's race in Georgia, a Democrat. And this is how they siphon tax dollars from us folks they they they park billions of money from USAID or Social Security or just treasury funds or all this different money the different slush funds they got, mostly through USAID. And they parked in places and they set up NGOs non governmental organizations to go do this absurd thing or that absurd thing or this absurd thing, and they're not even they're not even real agencies they're not even have any staff. They're just getting funneled into corrupt politicians pockets, and you know the idea that doge is is an unpopular thing is a false it's it's a very popular thing 70% of Americans love what's happening with those and the only people that are screaming and complaining the loudest are the politicians who are losing their slush fund guaranteed. And it's got to stop Zeldin also is about to dismantle get this I've been talking about this I've been talking about how the Trump administration is going to end all the clean, new deal garbage and the clean new steel I call it. Zeldin is about to dismantle the holy grail of President Obama's clean air act of 2009 walking away from every climate policy on the books he said they would roll back and kill climate change rules terminate grants and change how it collects and uses greenhouse data. In other words, all the consensus of science that says that our own exhale is destroying America, which is absurd, you know, I'll say this about man made climate change it's absurd. In order to think that God especially if you're a Christian if you think that God was to create a speak the earth into existence and when he spoke that earth into existence it wasn't just a manifestation of the boys and the girls and the birds and the bees it was its operating system but he also planted spoke into it fuels just below the surface of the earth that would keep us safe and prosperous and warm in the winter and we'd be able to move around the earth with it and be prosperous and grow and be happy and comfortable in our lives to think that he would place those there that would give us the ability to kill ourselves with it if we use them is absolutely it's blasphemy to me it's thinking you're saying God's not smart enough to make an earth that we won't kill ourselves with so that's a rant with insider rant but he's taken the holy grail of the clean air act and he's and he's ending it he's terminating the grants and change how it collects and uses greenhouse data what he means by changing the grants is the reason Governor vocal can come in and mandate electric buses to our school districts which cost three times as much as diesel buses and would bankrupt every every district in the state unless they raise their taxes by two thirds to us to pay for all these ridiculous electric buses that really don't work in the winter that well they have they they lose half or more than half their range and you can't trust them you can't you can't run kids on buses that you can't you can't keep charged the money that they'd have to invest to create the charges necessary to charge these buses would bankrupt as districts that we have now these these clean air mandates she was getting subsidies from the feds from the Biden administration it's the only way you can do it and as soon as as soon as these deals are gone so goes those mandates without the grants and the kickbacks and the funding she cannot afford to keep any of that garbage including gas furnaces you can't you can't eliminate gas furnaces if you don't have the subsidies to it to to give the subsidies to put you into these all these electric heat pumps that we we don't have enough electricity grid to run anyway so all this stuff is going to end it's going to end and all this stuff was going to drive us out of our homes the school districts taxes the taxes on all the clean energy stuff the taxes on carbon tax credits and everything they're trying to do with climate was going to drive us out of our homes so Lee's Elden is at the EPA and he's fixing it and he's going to fix it by just eliminating the Clean Air Act that was in that was that was brought in all that this clean man made climate change regulations into being and they're going to be gone soon and so be it they should be thank you Lord you know your school taxes alone would would fund the would drive you out of your homes I think I already said that the same would be true of the 18 wheelers there's stories on the news this week that she's mandating 18 wheelers they can't sell a diesel 18 wheeler unless unless you sell an electric 18 wheeler these trucks here's how it would work say Wegman sends a full load of groceries to Albany the truck would get to Utica and have to charge overnight to get there on the way back because it's empty it could make it to Syracuse but that's two full days to a trip that used to be done in one day doubling the cost of that trip and doubling the cost of every grocery item in that truck it's absolutely madness to think that these and see those mandates are in place now she has to read she has to bring them back she has to terminate them and she doesn't have the money coming from the federal government to back them up let's talk about tariffs for a minute news flash folks Trump is not starting trade wars let me say that again Trump is not starting trade wars Canada Mexico Europe and most others have burdened the US with 100 to 200% tariffs on dozens of our most popular products for decades this is finally coming into reciprocity and fairness for our country Europe taxes our cars at 100% Canada taxes our dairy products at 200% and there's dozens of other items that are popular in America that we make the better than anybody else that we can't sell the Europe we can't sell the Canada we can't sell the Mexico because they've put these triple digit tariffs on them for decades and decades it's enough all he's saying is enough if you're going to tax us 100% for this we're going to tax you 100% for that if you tax us 20% for this we're going to tax you 20% for that that's all he's doing and all the rage and all the warning that you're getting from the media is most of it's never going to happen because it's a trade tactic he's negotiating he's convincing them that he's playing for real and you're going to get hurt none of those people can win a trade war with us let me say that again none of these countries can win a trade war with us Canada has 40 million people we have 300 million people they have to have our market in order to live same with Europe they have to have our market in order to be a wealthy European Union so they cannot win a tax war with us in Mexico is even in worst shape so this is all just a tax it's a strategy it's winning the day and he's going to win the day I believe you know and most of these new tariffs will never be started like I said see the Canadian electric tariff Canada came out and act like a tough guy like I may even cut off electricity to New York State oh really Trump just doubled down on the steel and aluminum and he said okay I guess we won't do that we'll be fine never mind all right stock markets down about 10% folks that's not it's not 1929 relax there's going to be some corrections that have to happen during all this stuff and it's okay that the stock market goes up 10 or 20% during all this it's not the end of the world relax you know and enough with the attacks on Elon Musk he's just doing the job that we elected Trump to do cut the waste government has had 50 years of unbridled growth each agency has like five layers of redundant bureaucracy for every one layer needed Trump is firing 50,000 while Clinton bill Clinton fired almost 400,000 in the first year he was in the presidency and you didn't even hear about that from the media because he was a democrat we have an annual $2 trillion in debt the budget cut in half is not even enough every industry in the world has faced tough mandated layoffs it's about time our government faces one it's a matter of the country surviving or not Trump has a vision to cut the waste and grow the economy through oil and gas sales large enough to double and quadruple the revenue is coming in right now so that he can end this is what he's trying to do and it's absolutely real and he could do it and income taxes on everyone earning less than $150,000 it's absolutely possible once the government is efficient and our revenues are growing the democrats right now especially Schumer I hear him a lot the democrats are screaming that he's going to cut Medicare Medicaid and Social Security wrong it's not he's trying to save them Congress passed a budget bill to cut all taxes from Social Security and every single democrat including Chuck Schumer voted against it if one senior votes for one of these crooks you deserve to have your taxes raised give me folks how about ending the department of education that's that's talking a lot about this week yes the department of education doesn't teach one student all it does is create layers and layers of bureaucrats who create dangerous woke and divisive policies and maintain a layer jobs programs for admin and union bosses the parents in each district are smart enough to teach their own kids we did it for 100 years unfortunately in New York will always have a state education department to manage and administrate and create useless CRT common core and gender confusion the general the federal branch is completely completely unnecessary I have to see Trump cut off Columbia University with 400 million in grants if you're going to use it to spew anti-Semitism and anti-american terrorist supporting hate you lose it word is Trump has 20 other universities in his sights good last week the media celebrated the blow up with Zelensky and Trump this week Zelensky comes back hat in hand and put in agrees put in agrees in principle with a ceasefire but wants to talk to Trump directly for assurances and the assurances he wants to hear is what started this whole attack on Ukraine in the beginning is that Obama and Biden and the European Union leaders at the time were trying to move Ukraine into NATO and that's why Putin invaded after the Bush administration and the Reagan administration all promised Putin they wouldn't put Ukraine in NATO and Biden and Obama were working against that promise and that's why he invaded in the first place so if he gets his insurances from Trump he's not going to push to have them part of NATO I think you'll get a peace deal and that'll be a win that nobody can take away from him it was confirmed that George Soros was funded by millions of our taxpayer dollars through USAID we paid to sabotage our own justice system by electing attorney generals like these teams and DAs like Alvin Bragg and we paid for our own protesters to set fire to our own cities during the BLM and Antifa riots we're now paying for anti-Semitic pro terrorist protests at Columbia University and dozens of other universities so that all those checks amen Godspeed Elon that's a that's my rant for the day I'm going to go to our second quote of the week and it's Proverbs 28 and 2 when a country is rebellious it has many rulers but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order we know that our former president was not in charge many others non-elect and we're auto signing executive orders God is
