- Hi out there, welcome inside another edition. It is the Adam Jones podcast. He of course over there is Adam Jones in Barcelona, Spain. I'm just here in Baltimore, Maryland. My name's Jerry Coleman. We're presented by the Baltimore banner. We have reached, hey, you don't have to make that frown because I'm stuck in Baltimore and you're in Barcelona. Episode 93 has arrived and we will be joined by former Major Leger and current MLB coach. His name is Quentin Berry. It took what 92 episodes for Adam to get one of his best friends on his own podcast. We'll discuss that. We'll also talk about the changes in the Orioles coaching staff. And look at the, well, the final four of the post season as we're down to the league championship series. Plus you'll get a chance to win a $50 gift card courtesy of Lido Pizza. That'll come during socially speaking. But we begin as always with our featured guests. He's sponsored by Jimmy's famous seafood. He's the former Major League player and the current Major League Baseball coach. And as I mentioned, a long time friend of Adam Jones. Quentin Berry, thanks for being here this week. Appreciate it. Love the garb, love the background. You know where all the bodies are buried. Quentin, when it comes to Adam Jones. Go way back. What can you tell us first of all about how cocky this guy was going back to high school? And what type of guy he was back then? Because he couldn't have been the same guy he is today. Jerry, I think you're going to be highly disappointed if you think he was cocky at all back in high school. That guy, that guy didn't know which way was up, sideways, whatever, he was just trying to go along, get along and make it as far as he could. So I will say the cockiness definitely grew over the years once he started doing some things at the Major League level. But I speak it more to being confident than anything. So he had no reason to be cocky back then is what you're saying, essentially. No, no, he's just a good old kid from the neighborhood block who had the ability to go out there and hit homers and throw 98 miles an hour off the high school bump.
