Hazrat Isa (Alaihis Salaam), known in English as Jesus, is one of the most revered prophets in Islam. His life and story, as narrated in the Quran, are significantly different from the Christian narrative. In Islam, Hazrat Isa is considered a prophet and messenger of Allah, not the Son of God, and his mission was to guide the Children of Israel to worship one true God. Birth of Hazrat Isa (Alaihis Salaam) Hazrat Isa was born to the Virgin Mary (Maryam, Alaihis Salaam) in the town of Bethlehem. His birth is considered a miraculous event, as he was born without a father. His mother, Maryam, was a righteous and devout woman, and she had been chosen by Allah to give birth to a prophet. The Quran mentions her purity and virtue in many places.

• Miracle of Birth: According to the Quran, when Maryam was approached by the angel Jibril (Gabriel), she was informed that she would give birth to a son, despite being a virgin. The Quran says in Surah Maryam (19:20–21): "She said, 'How can I have a boy, while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?' He [Gabriel] said, 'Thus has your Lord said: 'It is easy for Me; and We will make him a sign for the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter already decreed.'"

Mission of Hazrat Isa (Alaihis Salaam)

• Prophethood: From a young age, Hazrat Isa (Alaihis Salaam) was chosen by Allah to be a prophet to the Children of Israel. His message was to call people back to the worship of one God (Allah) and to follow the true path of righteousness. He performed many miracles as signs from Allah, including healing the sick, raising the dead, and giving sight to the blind, all by the will of Allah.
• Message: Hazrat Isa’s main message was that people should worship Allah alone and not associate any partners with Him (Tawhid). He also emphasized love, kindness, and mercy towards others.

Miracles of Hazrat Isa (Alaihis Salaam)

• Healing the Sick: Hazrat Isa performed many miracles, including healing the sick, such as curing lepers and restoring sight to the blind.
• Raising the Dead: One of the great miracles of Hazrat Isa was the ability to bring the dead back to life, with Allah's permission. This was a clear sign of his prophethood and Allah's power working through him.
• The Table Spread (Mawidah): In the Quran, it is mentioned that Hazrat Isa's disciples asked him to pray to Allah to send down a table spread with food as a sign. Allah responded, and the food came down as a miracle, but it was also a test for the people.
• Creating a Bird from Clay: In Surah Al-Imran (3:49), it is mentioned that Hazrat Isa fashioned a bird from clay and breathed into it, and by Allah’s permission, it became a real bird.

The Disciples (Hawariyyun) Hazrat Isa was supported by a group of loyal disciples known as the Hawariyyun (the Apostles). They were dedicated to his message and helped spread his teachings. However, like many prophets, Hazrat Isa faced opposition from the leaders of his time, who rejected his message and tried to discredit him. The Crucifixion (In Islam) Unlike the Christian belief in the crucifixion and resurrection of Hazrat Isa, the Islamic narrative differs significantly. The Quran mentions that the people of that time plotted to kill Hazrat Isa, but Allah protected him from harm.

• The Plot: According to Islamic tradition, the enemies of Hazrat Isa sought to crucify him, but Allah intervened. The Quran states in Surah An-Nisa (4:157–158): "And [the Jews] said, 'Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Isa, the son of Maryam.' But they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise."
