- Well, welcome everybody. I'm Tom Lead Pastor here at Coastal Bible Church. We are super glad you are with us. Thanks, Carrie and the team for leading us in worship. This week we're continuing a series that we've been working on called Failing Forward, The Life of Moses. And the idea behind this series is that God does not leave us when we fall apart. God does not forsake us. Instead, God's always moving us forward, even though we stumble and fall and crash and burn. And so we're working through that. And today we're gonna see, I think kind of like a turning point, as it were in Moses' life, where he really starts to get it. Like he really like figures it out for a second. And so today's message is don't go solo. And I want us to see how it is that God works in and through us. And by us, I mean us, not me. And so the first thing I want you to take home is this. And this is critical. It makes everything make sense ultimately. And it's this, the battle isn't the battle. Okay, the battle isn't the battle. When Carrie was praying, I'm so glad that she was helping us come to a place where we can lift what's going on in our lives to God. Because we come in here. Every single person in here is fighting something. There's no end to the problems that we have. Those continue through life. It's one battle after another. That's a fact, that's the reality of life. Okay, but what I want us to see, and we're gonna see it in this text, is that the battle that you think you're fighting, isn't the battle you're really fighting. So let's join Exodus 17. If you're catching up with us, we're in the life of Moses. The, Moses has led the Israelites out of captivity in Egypt. They were slaves, they were forced labor. Now they're headed towards the Promised Land, and they're sort of wandering. They're kind of in the middle of life, of slavery, and the life of freedom, the life of promise. Which in a lot of ways is where we all are, kind of all the time.
