Mr. Tom Lee, Pastor here at Coach Powell Church. We are super glad you're with us. A special welcome to those who are watching online. Apparently, my family, I just got back from Phoenix, or Scottsdale, Arizona, where my heathen pagan family is having a reunion and they're apparently watching today. So, we had an awesome time. It was really a beautiful time to gather and see cousins. I hadn't seen them in some cases like a decade. So, it was really, really cool and seeing their kids. And I don't know, it was awesome. So, glad you guys are with us. And for those of you joining us online, that as well. We are continuing a series called Failing Forward. And the series is really, it's based on the life of Moses. One of the things that we think of, if we're not super familiar with the stories of the Bible, we hear like names and maybe we remember them like, we'll hear names like Moses, or Abraham, or all these, you know, Saint Paul, whoever. And we think, we think these people are heroes. They're the best, if only we could be like them, then everything would be awesome and life would be great. Well, there's good news and bad news. The good news is you are actually just like them. Like, whether you know it or not, you are a 100% just like these names that you hear. The bad news is, is that in almost every case in the Bible, all the famous heroes, the, honestly, everyone except for Jesus was a total mess. And then, and it was fascinating about the Bible. It's from start to finish. What God does is he works through failure. When we fail, God does not leave us on the ground, bleeding and waiting. Instead, God takes our failure and launches his mission forward through it. And so this week, we're gonna be talking about when we fail because of self-reliance. Okay, self-reliance fails. And to start, I would just like to, I have a picture, first, there's Moses. We saw him last week. And remember, I noticed this moment, he's got the, what come to be called the 10 Commandments. He's like super bums. And you're like, why is he so upset? Well, he's about to destroy him because he feels like he's failed. We're not there yet in a story where it's a younger Moses.
