Happy Mother's Day No, no happy Mother's Day to me, that's fine. I Get it. Thanks worship, you know, it was awesome Yeah Mother's Day is It's difficult in the Bennett household because I'm I'm leaving and I don't I don't so we did it last night. We did it last night And we got a few things for for mom But it's funny like I went to Costco to get a new nugget ice maker That was critical. We've been we've had a major ice deficiency and Also, she's been wanting the creamy. It's like make your own protein ice cream or something. She's a little concerned about my sugar intake And so so I got those things and I was like man. What a great gift. I did such a good job but It was interesting that what she really actually appreciated Was the kids wrote I made them write their own cards Just because I you know, I was a little bit like hey you guys have been talking a lot I need some quiet you should write cards for your mom and it was fascinating the stuff that they wrote and I I to be fair. I did write a really nice card - I'm not like a bad guy But but what it was it was so interesting like I think Olivia wrote something along the lines of thank you for taking money out of your paycheck to pay for basketball for me and I was like Wow like what? You even the fact that she even knows that kind of blew my minds let alone that she would have recognized that that was a real sacrifice that Aaron was making because she believed Analivia and believed in her ability and Soren he every night Aaron kind of says like a like sort of little mantra before bed And one of the things is I love you to the moon. I love you to the moon She says that to him. I think she might even sing it and so he wrote in his card. I love you to the moon and back and He spelled it himself. He's seven. So good for him and And That was the stuff not the ice cream maker and not the nugget ice machine not the lulu lemon gift card That was the stuff That hit home And I bring that up because men for a moment there it put everything in perspective You know it put everything in perspective and this morning. I got some news some of you may remember Cara case now, but Cara feasts. I knew her when we were growing up in this church. She's been a longtime missionary at coast She worked with campus crusade for Christ and apparently last night. She was killed in the car accident Yeah And Her two kids and her husband are in the hospital. I don't have any details I'm gonna find out and then I'll update the church as soon as I know what's going on, but she was my age Maybe a year older and a friend and That perspective of like what what is it that matters in life, you know What is it that matters and we're gonna be talking about that today. We're talking about moms and exile We've been in a series on what it's like to be an exile We as as a community we're told that we're immigrants and strangers where exiles in this place our homes in heaven We're here for a little while some of us get a little longer than others Cara didn't get as much as as I would have liked to have seen her Get and so while we're here. What is it that is happening to us? I I we had a women's retreat last last week and I got some amazing reports From the women's retreat and and one of the things that the lady was talking about was what kind of assault is going on in the minds of?
