- Well, today we have a special guest. I grew up here, as many of you know. Our family has been at, I'm Pastor Tom, by the way, lead pastor or a co-host, if you don't know. And we came to Coast Bible Church in 1989 or 1990, nobody knows for sure. And at that time, our pastor here at Coast Bible Church was Pastor Arch, Rutherford, who is a great friend of mine and a mentor. And growing up, hey Pastor Arch, he's there. You can raise your hand. Raise your hand, old man. Terrible, okay. He's over 150 years old now, so it's glad he's still with us. And growing up, my buddy here at church was Craig Rutherford that's an archer son, and Craig, over many years, we had a lot of adventures, one of my favorite, just to show you how soft your children are. This is 1994, so I think I was like 13, maybe 12. Craig, I think is a year younger than me. And I don't know if you remember, a 1994 Jurassic Park was released into the theaters. And Pastor Arch, Craig's dad, was a huge fan of movies, and he determined that we would go to the big Newport to see Jurassic Park in the theater on opening day. And at that time, you couldn't reserve seats. And so we got there about four or five hours early to make sure we got a good spot in line. But Pastor Arch had plans, and his plans was that he and his adult friends would go to Planet Hollywood and do some shopping while Craig and I, at 13 and 12 years old, would stand in line and guard all of their places from the angry people who wanted to slot in. And it was a really traumatic experience, both and I, Craig, both Craig and I have PTSD from that. A lot of angry, angry, rich white people that we had to deal with, but we got the seats. And literally, we were walking in, and it was just the two of us. And then this group of about 15 adults just swamped into our spot. And we all slotted into the big Newport theater and got the best seats. So, Pastor Arch, you're welcome for the best theater going experience of your life. And with that, I want to invite up my friend who's pastor of a church in Colorado, Craig Rutherford, my friends, who's going to open up a series and exiles. (audience applauds)
