We are, if you're new or visiting, we're, today we're finishing up a series we've been in for a little while called the Lifeboat. I'm Tom, you're the lead pastor here and we're super glad you're with us. The Lifeboat is kind of a way of thinking about our lives. We start out in the world on what we think of as the cruise ship, where all of our questions and all the things that we think about, all those things are answered. We don't consider, we don't reflect. We're just doing what we do. We have, you know, we're just on the boat. And for some of us, that's a great deal because we're, you know, in first class or whatever, you know, we've got the balcony view of the ocean. For others of us, we start out on the cruise ship, you know, down shoveling coal into the engines to make it run better. It's not a great life, or we're the people who clean everything up. So it's not a great existence, but it pays the bills and we're fed and that's kind of just our lives. And that's what we do. But like the Titanic, at some point or another, in everyone's life, everyone here today, at some point or another, your life hit an iceberg. And that iceberg may have been something that you did. It might have been something that you caused. You were naughty in certain ways. And as a result, things around you fell apart. It might be, on the other hand, something that happened to you. You lost somebody, someone betrayed you. People that should have been taken care of, you didn't. But whatever the case, your life, which you thought was going in one direction, ended up crashing and you were drowning in one way or another. In that moment, because you are here, the truth of the matter is, when you were drowning, Jesus himself reached out to you, grabbed you, and he pulled you out of the water and he pulled you here into the lifeboat. And so we've been looking at the church, really, as a lifeboat. What do we do here? How do our lives operate once we've been saved from whatever it was that was drowning us? And so we've looked at, first you've got to dry off. You've got to get rid of the old clothes
