Welcome welcome, I'm Tom, I'm a lead pastor here at Coast, and we are so glad you're with us. Thank you, worship team, that was amazing. We're continuing our series, "The Lifeboat." "The Lifeboat" is based on sort of the idea that our lives before were kind of like life on a cruise ship. No, we didn't have to, we didn't ask any questions, we didn't have to think about where things were going, we were just on for the ride. Some of us born into the, the steerage or the lower areas and we hadn't just hard, you know, labor putting coal into the fire, but we knew we were supposed to do. Some of us born, you know, at the top, born on third base, just silver spoon. And it was great, it was awesome in some ways, but then something happened to us, something happened to every person here, and that's why you're here. Because at one point or another, something happened that sank the ship. That, that, that life that you had where it was, that we had, where it was just it all made sense, and even if we weren't necessarily maybe happy even, but at least, at least all the questions were answered, all of that crashed down, and we found ourselves drowning in the waters of something. You know, maybe there was something in our lives, like a sin that, that we were responsible for something we'd done wrong that was grievous, horrible, and it was having massive implications, and we were like, what do we do with that? Maybe we, it wasn't really your fault. Maybe something happens where somebody betrayed you. Maybe you, a natural disaster came, or sickness, illness, something that just ripped your, the way that you saw life away, and you found yourself, you found yourself just, just bobbing up and down, and unable to tread water. Well, what happened to you, and why you're here, is that when you had no hope, when you were powerless, when there was no way for you to survive, a hand came down, the hand of Jesus, and he pulled you out of the water, and he set you here in the lifeboat, the church. So last week, we talked about the, the first thing you do when you get into the church, you've got to dry off. You have these wet clothes, you have an entire history
