With that, let's continue our series, Be The Read. We've been looking at Isaiah 54 to 56. And Isaiah 54 to 56 is a prophecy that God gives Israel saying, "Hey, Israel, "this is what's gonna happen to you when my Messiah comes. "When I send my man, my anointed one, "to rescue and liberate you, "something incredible is gonna happen in your lives. "And I'm gonna tell you what it is." And we looked at it and every time we look at what God says is gonna happen, it's very odd because they're incredible things, but they have nothing to do with our effort. God is the one doing them. We are simply receiving and being on the receiving end. So the question is what is our role in that? And we heard that in our worship this morning about how it's God's power, not our power. He's the one who's great. And yet this is kinda like, okay, what do I do? Do I just sit around and wait for God to do cool stuff? It seems like I should be somehow involved. And what we've been seeing is that the story of the oak and the reed kind of gives a good example of how we are supposed to live. The reed, when the strong winds come, we remember that Ruach is the Hebrew for spirit, which also means a wind. So when the wind of God blows, okay, our natural responses, human beings, is to stand up against it, strong, tall, resistant, like the rosemary, that is an incredible haircut. You look beautiful. Well done. I lost that. Okay, when the wind blows, our natural response is to be resistant to stand up against it. And when that happens, we get blown over, man. Like the oak, the open the hurricane comes, the oak just gets knocked over. It's the reed that seems weak because it's so pliable and bendable. It's the reed that actually thrives in the midst of the blowing of the wind. We saw that in Isaiah 42, when God says, when my Messiah comes, He will not knock over the bruised reed. The bruised reed will blow with Him. And if you know anything about reeds, and we'll talk about this later, that's how their seeds spread. Is they just go with the wind and they let go of their seeds
