- Welcome, y'all, we, last week we started our new series Made for Adventure, Life as a Journey with God. And kind of in that, if you haven't seen the Fellowship of the Ring, the kind of the basis of the whole story is that Tolkien, the author of Lord of the Rings, understood something about the Bible, something about human life. And that is that God is always calling us out into an adventure. It's crazy, too, because people think of, you know, religion and Christianity as boring. You know, you come here and like, oh man, there's music, but eh, or there's some guys yelling at me, eh. But the actual reality of spiritual life is what it's meant to be is it's meant to be an adventure. It's meant to be something that changes us. And we saw a little bit of that last week, and we're gonna see it again this week. And just before we jump in, though, I promise you, here's the thing. So there is, Patrick told you about Jackson, the baby contest, most attractive baby in the world. So I got the link and I checked on it. And I went and I looked at the competition. The other babies don't measure up. We have an obligation as a church community to make sure that Jackson gets the recognition he needs, that he deserves, and just to celebrate the DNA that he has. And so I'm gonna send out, I'm gonna send out an email this week with a link, and "Coast Bible Church" is going all in. On Jackson bureau, are we ready? We're gonna do it. All right. Four more days, we gotta get this thing done. We gotta vote once a day, all right. Okay, enough of that. Let's check in on "Made for Adventure." This is a story of Philip, a disciple of Jesus after he's been raised from the dead. And Philip is gonna meet somebody who's on the road, who's in the adventure. So let's check this out in Acts eight. Then an angel of the Lord said to Philip, "Get up and go toward the south to the road "that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." This is a wilderness road. "I'm sending you out into the wilderness, Philip. "I'm sending you out on the road. "This is your adventure."
