We're continuing our series in Hebrews, everything starts with Jesus today. I got to warn you today, the author of Hebrews is a little bit upset. He's upset with us and it's going to be okay. It's going to turn to a challenge, but he is going to give us a little bit of a pat. Let's read it and let's pick it apart together. He is upset with them because he thinks they should. He thinks that this should be obvious to anyone who's studied the scriptures. But then the reason they don't, why don't they understand this? Why don't we understand this? I mean, I don't know. Does anyone here know what the order of Melchizedek is? Oh, okay, Griffin's got it. All right, but the rest of us are like, oh, he's like, why don't you know about this? Well, it's because, at least for the hearers of the author of Hebrews, letter, it's because they no longer try to understand. That's the NIV softening, the Greek there. The Greek is actually your sluggish,
