Well, hey, now that the kids have left, we're going to talk a little bit about kids. We've got special guests here today. This is Robin Wood. He is one of the co-founder of Camp Allendale, and a lot of us are newer here, and maybe don't know about the history that our church has with Camp Allendale. And so I just wanted to have an opportunity to talk to Robin and let him share a little bit about what Camp Allendale is and all that. So Robin, what is Camp Allendale and how did you get involved with it and all that? Well, Camp Allendale is a place where kids who live in foster homes, kids that have been taken from their families because of neglect and abuse. These kids are allowed to come to camp in the summer and in the winter where we introduce them to Jesus Christ, the only thing that is going to change their life. And how's it been with COVID? Well, it's just so you know, so Robin and Karen started Camp Allendale, what year? 1980. 1980. And they're interim executive directors right now. Right. But remote working from Idaho. From Idaho. From Idaho. While things get settled. And so what it has been, there's been a little bit of upheaval. I mean, obviously everyone's gone crazy with COVID and whatnot. Sure. Can you just toss a little bit of the-- Well, the summer in 2020, we weren't able to have children at camp. So we found a way to have programs virtually that the kids could attend. Of course, that wasn't the best thing, but it was all we could do. But this last summer, we were able to have children at camp in person, had a regular summer camp program with some modifications to keep them safe, but also for them to be able to come. It was like most of these kids said that they hadn't been able to do anything actively for a year. So they were excited to be at camp. Yeah. And what does camp kind of look like? What do the kids do and that sort of thing? Well, it's a lot what do you expect most camps to be like? You know, there's everything from archery to hiking to fishing in the creek. They're up near the Santa Ana River is where our camp is, up on Highway 38 on the way to Big Bear. But it's a normal camp in the sense of all the things that kids do. What's different is there's 24 kids in a group. And there's 12 counselors in a group. So there's one counselor for every two children, which is very different than most camps. And only having 24 children in a group is very different as well, but it is also what makes them feel safe and they're able to hear the word, hear the gospel. And I can personally attest, I was a junior counselor at Camp Hallendale in high school. And I can tell you it's Thursday night, right, where the kids just share.

Today we will look at David's commitment he showed to Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth. The same kind of commitment God wants us to have toward our fellow believers and the kind of commitment God has towards us.
