If you're like me, you're not the best at praying. I'm gonna be honest with you. I'm not the world's greatest prayer warrior. We've got some in this church. We have some people who are just, it's just their natural modus operandi. The way they are, it's the way they breathe and think is in prayer. That's just who they are as people. A lot of us are not like that though. If you're like me, prayer is honestly sometimes, maybe in a lot of the time, kind of a chore. I'll tell you when it's not a chore. It's not a chore when I really want something. When I'm in, you've been there. You're like, oh no, this is this terrible things going on in my life. And suddenly you're just like, Lord, I'm on it, every second of the day is another prayer. And if you're like me, you've been in those times in your life and you're like, okay, Lord, just get me through this one. I'll never be bad again. As soon as this is over, I'm gonna be right back in it. I'm gonna be the world's greatest prayer warrior. It's gonna be just like, I'm never gonna quit. And then you do, I do. Some, you know, your days are busy, right? You're like, oh prayer, I'd love to be involved. But the thing is, I mean, have you lived here in Southern California? Have you experienced what this life is like? And you know, for me, it's, I'm fathering and husbanding. And now there's a new verb, I'm adulting. That's when you've, when you've, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna be responsible. I'm gonna be an adult. I'm adulting, pastoring, teaching, writing. If I can, I'd like to do a little playing. And so you know, you know, it's like, you know, Erin's got the girls and they're having their bath, which I step out of. I don't help with that for the most part. So there's like this 45-minute period where I know they're gonna be splashing. She's gonna be getting them ready for the next day setting out their clothes and all of that. And so I've got 45 minutes. And I'm thinking, yes, all right, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna kneel next to my bed.
