[Music] Welcome back everybody to Watcher of All Things. My name is Kiki and this is my podcast where I talk movies, TV shows and all things entertainment and today it is episode 110 where I am very excited to be talking about Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Bride. This is a bombastic, huge, crazy in your face swing. Does it all land? I'm not sure but I'm so excited to talk about this movie specifically. I saw this in iMacs at Scotia Bank Theatre here in Toronto and it blew my mind the format that it's presented in. Looked amazing, we're going to talk all about it, the insane performances. Maggie Gyllenhaal as a storyteller, maybe some cameos we'll get to in the spoiler section but before all of that I hope you are doing well. It is bright and early on a Friday morning. If I sound a little bit sick, I feel like I am getting sick once again. I was sick last weekend or two weekends ago after the rivoli pop up for Nervon to the band to show the movie and I feel like I'm getting sick again or I'm just tired. I'm not sure I was up late watching The Pit which we will talk about later in the show in the what else I watch segment but before all of that I do just want to say up top my 2026 Oscar hopes and predictions video is out it is on my youtube channel available free to watch thank you to everyone who has sent a bunch of love who has watched it checked it out. I'm so grateful it was a lot of fun it's like 34 minutes long I forget every year that there's 24 categories at the Oscars like that is a lot of awards that's a lot to talk about and after the actor awards last weekend I really did have to reconsider a few of my picks because it was very interesting what went down but we're not going to talk about that today we're not going to cover the Oscars or the actor awards this is all about Maggie Gyllenhaals the bride so as always time stamps below if you don't want any spoilers just listen to the non-spoiler section up top we'll have the news then we'll jump into non-spoilers then spoilers then what else I watched lots to cover today so let's do it let's get into the news our first piece of news that has been widely reported that Conner's story the star of heated rivalry who has just been in absolutely everything I've seen recently because he's really having his moment is rumored to star in Luca Guanagnillo's separate rooms alongside Leia Sidu so Josh O'Connor was initially in this role at least but he's actually stepped down and they've been looking for a replacement for a little while Conner's story has stepped in really interesting um I did watch a little bit of his SNL episode last week and I thought he was fantastic a lot of really funny stuff I didn't love how they had like the men's hockey team on the US men's hockey team on it just felt like such a catering moment forced applause all of this stuff but his sketches were really really funny there was one specifically where he's what is he like a male stripper but he's been in a car accident right before he went to this gig so he's just like screaming and agony the whole time he's cuts all over his body it was fun to just kind of see him be let loose and go absolutely nuts he seems like he has very silly goofy energy and I just really enjoyed how he embraced hosting didn't seem you know stiff at all or hesitant he was super committed to every single scene or every single sketch and SNL actually has a really good lineup or a really good run going this weekend they have Ryan Gosling and the Gorilla's hosting I'm absolutely gonna watch that even if I can't see it live I'm definitely gonna watch it on Sunday then next weekend or the weekend after it's Harry Styles who is doing both hosting and music performances I'm really pumped for that because he is just a really really funny musician dude I mean Ryan Gosling's gonna be probably another generational episode his last one gave us one of the best sketches of all time Beavis and Budhead I thought that was genuinely the hardest I have maybe laughed at live SNL in years I could not contain my laughter when that was on just everybody breaking Heidi not able to get it together Mikey Day in the background just laughing his ass off at this ridiculous makeup and Ryan Gosling's voice is essentially gone because he's been on this wild press tour really excited for that next week and I'm also seeing Project Hail Mary next weekend which is really cool it's actually going to be my first iMac 70 millimeter screening ever I'm seeing it at the cineplex Vaughn which is one of the you know how many are there in the world is it 10 or 12 something like that 70 millimeter iMac's projector so I'm really pumped for that because I've never gone it's been a bucket list item I wanted to see Oppenheimer a couple years
