[MUSIC PLAYING] That's Smiley Copan for '61. Wow. I'm Smiley Copan, and this is The Smiley Show. Welcome back to another episode of The Smiley Show. And this is one-- I am particularly pumped about this one. I know you're particularly pumped about this one as well, because this is a guy that we have been hammering the last two weeks for a one-and-done picks, a phenomenally talented young player, Luke Clanton. You obviously, if you've been following golf, really the past month, you saw him tie for 41st of the US Open and had that showdown with Neil Shipley, the low AM contest on Sunday, and then keeps it rolling. Keeps momentum going. Top 10s at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. And then falls that up with a tie for second at the John Deere Classic. He's just playing exceptionally good golf right now. As we speak at the time of recording, this guy's favorite, 16 to 1, the favorite, going into the opposite field event this week against the Scottish Open. Formerly, the Bob Barbersall. I believe it's the Isco Championship. But he has nine points in the PGA Tour Accelerator rankings. PGA Tour U Accelerator rankings probably should have more on a great run of form right now in golf. So have a really, really fun conversation to share with you all. Smiley and Luke talking about just what the last month's been like. Luke's exposure to tour life. Super cool stuff. But before we get to that conversation, Smiley, we are thrilled to have a new presenting sponsor for the show. And one that's near and dear to both of our hearts as guys, pretty pale guys who burn pretty easily. And we get on the golf course. Yes. And that is where SVF, that do some incredible sunscreen products, among other things. So I'm going to kick it over to you now. Tell me a little bit about your Wear SPF experience and just the importance of putting on sunscreen when you out playing. No, we're just thrilled to be working with Wear SPF. I got introduced to the sunscreen and the brand via Justin Thomas. A lot of people that I'm sure have seen the logo or just been familiar with seeing that light blue bottle. Yeah, Justin was the first person to give me some of the product for me to try out. And if you're not familiar with Justin Thomas' story when it comes to skincare and his skin cancer that actually he had in his leg removed, it just is a friendly reminder to go get checked. I know I've immediately went and scheduled a skincare appointment right after. And that was probably a couple of years ago. I'm probably due for another appointment here to go get checked as well. But yeah, Charlie, I'm really excited about this partnership with Wear SPF as somebody that is outside all the time and trying not to get burned. And I'm a vitamin D deficient guy as well. So there's a lot of factors in here for me. And with Wear SPF, it's been so far. This stuff has been really, really good for me. It was a big learning moment for us because we sat down. We obviously know the importance of sunscreen for the reasons you've listed. Justin Thomas, you don't want to get skin cancer. You don't want to have things removed if you can avoid it. But there are performance benefits. This is one of the big things we learned. If you, like me, are playing your summer golf in a place that is regularly above 95 degrees, regularly, regularly above 90% humidity, which means you are drinking a water bottle every other hole. You are not peeing at all during the round. Here's the deal. If you put sunscreen on, you reapply multiple times. It retains some of that hydration and it increases your performance because you're staying hydrated. You're not just sweating it all out. That to me was like a huge libel moment. Like not only am I preventing skin cancer, I am theoretically playing better golf because my body is tuned a little bit better by way of putting on Wear SPF. - You need something to negate the Miller lights as well that's dehydrating you as well. So might as well just go for some extra sunscreen every four holes. So I don't put transfusions in a spray bottle yet. But we can work on that. - Maybe we can talk to Wear SPF, the transfusion light purple can transfusion. - I can go for that. (laughing) - Sunscreen bottle, but yeah, man. Justin's, we're going to hopefully have him on here to kind of tell a little bit more of his story down the line. But we got a ton of information about sun care, sun products from Wear SPF that we're going to be giving to you guys over the coming weeks that I'm sure a lot of you guys are going to be wearing a lot about it because I just sure have in the last couple of weeks. - And you have lots of options. All right, you have sticks, you have lip balms, you have mineral, you have chemical, you have spray on. Here's what you can do. If you go to WearSPF.com and you use the code Smiley, that's S-M-Y-L-I-E 50. So S-M-Y-L-I-E 50, you can buy one and get the second one half off on any one product. And here's why this is a great play because again, I like to have skincare products at home, but also there are times where I'm jetting out the door, I'm leaving the wife and kids and the dogs behind. I'm trying to go in quickly. I don't have time to put the sunscreen on at home. So I go to my locker and open that up, go to the spikes on, not the spikes, nobody wears spikes anymore. But they're the cleats on and I put my sunscreen on. So a little buy one, get one, save a little bit of money, have suns carrying two different spots and increase your performance on the golf course. I don't think he gets any better than that spot. I keep one in my car and one in my golf bag because at some point one always runs out, it's always nice to have that second option. And I'm definitely gonna be forwarding this code to a lot of players I play with because everybody always ends up borrowing my sunscreen. So if you're a sunscreen moocher, this is the code for you. You have an opportunity to kind of load up on your stock thanks to Wear SPF. - That's a great point. If you're the sunscreen guy, you get the second bottle half off, that's the mooche bottle. You just keep that one around, you toss that to your buddies. All right, take it away, but buy your own next time. So there you have it. It's SMY LIE50, Smiley50, that's the code for buy one, get one. And thrilled to have Wear SPF partnered with the show. And so we will do a little nice natural segue from that into a guy who has been red hot, probably applying sunscreen in the process for the past month. - Your conversation with Luke Clinn, it looks like you have some additional thoughts. - Well, I just wanted to say that 60% of Division 1 golfers don't put on sunscreen. So we're about to talk to Division 1 golfer. And I imagine without hot he's been that he's definitely lacing up with plenty of sunscreen with how hot his play has been. - Yeah, it's like, you know, me with the putter, you know, sometimes it gets, you gotta wear the oven mitts to get it on, the Luke's been red hot. He's needed to apply a lot of sunscreen just to keep himself cooled down a little bit. So, big thanks to Wear SPF. And let's get right to your conversation with Luke Clinn. - All right, welcome back to another episode of The Smiley Show. Thrilled to have Luke Clinn joining us here for this episode and Luke, your household name now, man. Everybody knows who you are. Amateur just finished top 10 the last two weeks. The first amateur to do that since 1958, finishing 10th at the Rockin' Mortgage. And we saw you last week at the John Deere, finishing second and we can't forget about the US Open as well, making the cut as an amateur had a great battle with Neil Shipley that we're gonna get into as well on this episode. But Luke, you're playing this week in Kentucky. And now the ISCO Championship used to be the barber saw. Are you just like absolutely worn out right now? - Yeah, I mean, it's been awesome. I think that's the biggest thing for me. I think the journey I've been on and kind of actually understanding the ropes of Toregolf in a way is pretty cool. I'm really not used to going to an airport and picking up a car this easily. It's usually a car and all that. And, you know, but it's been freaking awesome. I mean, just the people are great. I mean, the support's been unbelievable. And, you know, me and my Patty, Jason, been traveling together and it's just been awesome. - Yeah, it was impressive, Gough, man. And just really, I can't imagine that you have too many doubts in your game right now from just looking at your statistics and how many birdies you're making. Your stroke game numbers are just absurd. I mean, rocket mortgage, you were second off the tee. John Deere last week, you were second in approach to the green. So your game, obviously, you have to be confident where you're at this week going to Kentucky, knowing that, hey, your stuff's holding up against the best players in the world. - Yeah, it's, Dan, it's just been good. It's kind of funny. I mean, I kind of had a little bit of a swing thought that's a little, little crazy. It's like actually kind of feel like Scotty going through the ball a little bit, kind of swing your hands. - Oh, welcome. - And, yeah. - Yeah. - I'm trying, I'm trying the show for us. - Yeah, it's been, it's been awesome. So I've been able to kind of feel a little bit more and not get so technical with everything. My coach, Jeff, Jeff Lee has been such a big help with that. Just kind of making me down the game down as much as I can and realize that my game is good enough to go out and compete with these guys. And, you know, again, like, I didn't really think that going into this whole, you know, stretch of golf 'cause again, I was an amateur and I'm still kind of learning everything. And now I actually kind of prove myself that I can be in contention and actually maybe a little one one is just pretty cool. - It's gotta be, it's gotta be very exciting. And you're a player that, for to stay, just have an absolute breakout year, your sophomore year, for to stay, your freshman year. Just looking at your scoring average differentials. I was, I'm always curious to see how players make a jump from their freshman year to sophomore year. A lot of times you start to see players like yourself who's highly touted coming out of junior golf, be able to kind of really get it going. And we've seen it in your second year. You have 10 top 10s your sophomore year and looking at your scoring averages though, in your freshman year, 71.49, and your sophomore year, 69.33, which is the lowest scoring average in Florida State history. And if you know about anything about Florida State golf, there's been plenty of great players that come out of Daniel Berger, Brooks Capka, now Luke Clanton to be the next in line. So let's talk a little bit about Florida State and your first couple of years in college. - Yeah, Florida State was definitely the perfect choice for me. I think I was a little hectic going into college. I didn't really have a great game plan set for me, I guess you say, and, you know, Trey Jones was a massive help to that for me. He's kind of giving me a little bit more strict on certain things and making sure that I'm actually in productive practice and not just going out and hitting balls and all these kind of things. And, you know, I think from freshman year, fall, probably to right the beginning of spring is when I was kind of just learning the reps of everything. I think people don't realize how hard it is that transition in the college. And, you know, post-season of freshman year was just unbelievable. It was just a blast thing with the boys and actually having that kind of experience with brothers basically. And then, you know, sophomore year turned out to be pretty cool. It was pretty great, you know, like, good golf came along. But again, I think just the practices we've done, I think all the training we've done in the gym, off the golf course, all these things, I think it's led me to have that kind of strong mentality when I'm out there in confidence, like, you know, that I can, and I think Trey Jones is not a good job at that. - And your sophomore year, also the first four to state golfer to ever win three consecutive events. So you've had quite the year, man. I imagine that the hole looks pretty big, the fairways look big, and that the center of the club face, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. But you're, you know, that your freshman year, what would you say besides just getting a little stronger and work ethic, what part of your game do you think developed the most from one year to the next? - This looks funny. It's definitely driving for sure. - Driving. - I was a terrible driver with golf ball. I mean, not good at freshman year. And I remember I looked at my stats, I think it's the end of fall on my average when like 45% fail. - I was like, this is a little stop. - Yeah, this is. - Talking to the right guy. You're talking to the right guy. - I'm a bum and gouge. You're figuring it out. - So it's just go figure it out in trees. That's basically what my game was. And I looked at Trey and I was, you know, just feeling you to figure this out. You know, I kind of got this low squeeze pot and I started climbing more and started figuring out certain shots and man, I mean, I think my sophomore year of spring, I averaged like 82%, 83% fairways, which was like. - Oh, yeah, like I was. I was in a driver. - What's your ball speed? - Average around 180 to 182. So yeah, it was definitely comfortable the head driver more than ever. And I think kind of having that confidence leads into your whole game. Cause I mean, the more you head driver's in the fairway, the more wedges you're going to have, more opportunities you're going to make birdie and all these kinds of things. And that's why I think, you know, coming out on tour, you know, playing these couple events. It's like the rocket mortgage, if you drove it well, you're going to have a lot of opportunities, standing with John Deere. I think like those kind of, you know, opportunities that have been given in the fairway from wedges from 100 yards, 160 yards. It's like a big opportunity. - You know, Luke, there's been a lot of conversations about just where the game is as far as the technology and how far the golf ball is going. And really just when I think about someone like you and even Michael Thorn Bjornsson who had a fantastic week as well, who's a very long player in his own right, you know, you guys grew up with all of this great technology. You grew up with all of, you know, these instruction that is helpful as far as being able to learn how to hit the ball further. And as you grew up as a kid, was it always just go hit as far as you can and go figure it out from there? - I actually know, my dad coached me until 16 years old and funny enough, even when we played tournaments and stuff, I would actually really never go to the range much. He would stick me out on this short course that was artificial greens. So I remember like it was yesterday and it was like kind of rough patch that he used public golf course and he would stick me out from 50 to 80 yards with a shag of balls and we would have to hit the green and keep it. I remember that green was bouncing and you're bouncing over the green every single time you hit it because it's artificial. And, you know, we did that for weeks and weeks and weeks and we would go to the range maybe once or twice a week. And, you know, as a young kid, I wanted to go to drivers and bomb it as far as I can, but you know, he was very struck to me on that. And I think that's what kind of led me to be where I'm at now in general. I think just to kind of have that feel and understanding that the game's not all about powering the golf balls much. And I think it's a little misunderstood 'cause I know guys are hit further now. But again, I still think you have to have that feel. If you don't have that feel around the greens, you know, making a couple of parsays here and there. Like, there's so many things to golf that just is incredible. So I think a big help to that was kind of learning young how to hit a wedge. - Oh, totally. And that, I'm not gonna put you in the bomb and gouge category, but learning how to use a wedge and having touch because if you're somebody that hits it far, which, by the way, was that something that was always something that was a superpower of yours to say that you've always had speed or have you developed speed over time? - I developed speed for sure. I like I lifted this whole Brice and Nish and Blue phase. I was like 16, 16, yeah. I was inspired for sure, Jim. I saw him when he was doing all the long drive stuff. And I think it was during the COVID year and I was like pumping in the gym as much as I could, trying to swing as fast as I could. I remember I got up to pretty high ball speed numbers and club as few, but that's when the accuracy kind of went out the door, you know? And that's when it went south quickly. But having that training and now kind of letting us go on at 70, 80% is like an average at 180, which is really nice because I can still hit it out to about 300, 310 and it's a little easier than swing and full blast. - All right, we gotta dive a little bit more into the meathead loop clanton phase. How early were we waking up? How much weight were we pushing? How many protein shakes are we having? Give it all to me, I wanna know. - Dude, it was a ton of caffeine for sure. It was a lot of caffeine, a lot of protein shakes, a lot of simulators. It was fun because I know all my buddies, you know, we would go, we'd wake up early, work out and then we'd go get simulators, probably five AM. Go work out for a couple hours. Go basically tear the body up so we could have been literally straight to the range, drop balls, and hit as hard as we can for about an hour and just try to train as fast as we could. And it was like, you know, it was good for sure to be where I'm at now, but in the moment it was crazy. You know, just a bunch of idiots basically trying to hit as hard as we could. But, you know, I think again, I think it led me to where I'm at now being able to kind of hit it. You know, if I wanna hit it hard, I can actually still square it up, which is pretty sweet. Easy speed now, but I do. What is your, like to hit it really far? If somebody's listening to this, besides just the training, what is something that your body and your hands have to do to be able to generate those high ball speeds and club head speeds, which I wanna know too, what was the highest you ever got on both of those metrics? - So the highest club speed I've ever gotten was the 45 inch driver. I was able to say stock was, I think it was 129.9. I never cracked 130. Never cracked 130, that was, that was a genius. That was on caffeine, I can't even talk. And then, I got 195 ball speed. - One nine five ball speed. - So why can't the caffeine just get to just, like, ready to rage, loud music too? - Yeah, just hard rock, just everything you can imagine, just ready to roll. But, no, it was, it's just a bunch of timing as well. I think with the golf swing, I think people, like, try to force it as much as they can to get it further, but it's actually not that at all. It's kind of loading the body, squatting into the shot. You know, it's, there's a lot of technique to it and I learning it, like at a younger age, listening to Bryson, what he was talking about, even though people thought he was kind of crazy for trying to hit as far as he could. I mean, it kind of made sense 'cause, you know, what he did and now what he's doing now, I mean, he hits it 340 and it looks pretty easy to him. - No, like it's, that's the kind of difference that a lot of people realize. - Oh, it's a, it's a tremendous advantage and it's from watching Bryson up close and personal with the US Open. It, I had a hard time believing anybody else could really compete with him based on the drives that he was hitting. So you make valid points and then I watch where on Sunday and he hit it very similar as well. - Yeah. - Which you, which you were at that US Open. What's, what's get into the US Open at Pinehurst were you qualified, still as an amateur, just almost won the, the willow amateur, had a great battle. You and Neil Shipley were paired together on Sunday. What were the odds of that there was a tournament within a tournament and especially between you two? - Yeah, it was, it was incredible. I mean, again, like Neil Shipley's one heck of a player. I mean, he's, he's had one heck of an amateur career, you know, and for him to win low am I can master his and long US Open is pretty nuts. I don't think many people ever can say that. And, you know, it was, it was one heck of a battle for sure. And, you know, I know we both wanted it so bad when we were out there and it was, it was a good competition, no doubt about it. We were having a blast and, you know, I think now he's turning proud and he's, he's been doing actually pretty well in his, in his pro career so far. And like, again, he's, he's a genius often on the golf course. Like guys brilliant, smart, I talked to him a few times and I was like, I could never do what you're doing in the school. It's unbelievable he talks about, but, you know, he's just a good dude in general as well. I mean, he deserves everything he's getting for sure. And, you know, I mean, to be at the US Open and to have a tournament with an attorney, like you said, it was, was awesome. I mean, the people were incredible. It was, the crowds were nuts. I've never heard crowds like that ever in my life before. And yeah, it was awesome. - Yeah, that 18 told you were kind of over there right in the trees and you had this beautiful, high looking cut shot and you bout, you bout hold it out. And then it looked like a putt on 18 where we were just taking quite break. And to that point, it's like your mind's probably mush at that point, right? - Dude, I, I just tried to make that putt so bad. I hammered it and then right when I missed it, I was like, oh, I got a six footer coming back from Parnell and it was like, Jesus. - It didn't matter at that point. - Yeah, I was like, I was like, just getting in the hole, please, let's get out of here. (laughing) - Man, oh man. So I guess one of the things I want to ask you about, so you, in college, I mean, Florida State, freshman, sophomore year, you both, you make it into match play both those years. You'll loss in the semis, you'll loss in the finals. And you have an amateur, you know, you're still an amateur, haven't turned pro. So for you, like, is the motivation right now where you're at in your game, is it, you know, just continuing to try to push to, you know, whether it's winning this week and on the PGA Tour, or are you still very motivated to go win a national title? Y'all are just knocking down the door steps at Florida State. So you have two really good options. - Yeah, I think, I think it's felt, honestly. I think, you know, my mind said, I want to win a national championship at Florida State. You know, I think that's like a goal of mine that as soon as I walked into college, I wanted to do it. We gave ourselves great opportunities last year's. I mean, it's been one heck of a ride, for sure, so far. And I'm still just becoming a junior. And, you know, again, if I go on a win this week or win 3M, whatever it is, like, you know, I'll see when it happens. 'Cause I just get on point years old, it's hard to really make any decisions right now. I'm still playing video games every night and chilling. So it's like, you know, it's one of those things where, you know, my mindset right now is with Florida State, you know, just to win a national championship with them. Again, you get, you know, two years on tour, all these things. It's like, it's kind of here and there, you know, it's hard to decide. - Once you get out on the PGA Tour and you experience a couple of weeks in a row and you go to U.S. Open, it's mad. It's hard not to fix yourself. Wanting to do that every single week. And I can't imagine going back to class and going back to school once I experience anything like the PGA Tour, you're just like, man, this is where I'm born. And this is what I'm dreamt of doing my whole life. So I imagine that it's like you're kind of conflicted. You just want to play the best you can can imagine. - Exactly. - Yeah, that's exactly what it is. I just don't want to, to a math class, man. That's brutal. - Wait, what, what video games? We got to ask you that. 'Cause that, I mean, for some of these are retired, I'm a retired gamer. - No, dude, you name and I play honestly, Call of Duty, everything you'd imagine. I mean, gosh, dude, I've played every game. When I still play every game. I've been actually playing, I'm going to get into Overwatch pretty soon here. I've never played Overwatch. I don't know what you have, but. - I don't even know what Overwatch is. That's how out of it I am now, I guess. - Yeah, I just found out about it a couple of days ago. So I'm going to get into that, but it's been a big 2K guy, big mountain guy, like all those games. So it's been fun, man. 'Cause I love remembering the Xbox on trips and just having a blast after around. So it's cool. I'm excited for the college football game to come out, not only just to play with the LSU, but to play with Eastern Kentucky and build a dynasty. If you never did that as a kid with Akron or whoever it might be, I love NCAA football. I'm so happy they're bringing it back. - Yeah. - I'm pumped, dude. That's the first thing I'm getting when it comes out, dude. I'm so pumped that I do. - All right, we're going to have to get the string fired up. We're going to have to do a little four to state LSU battle 'cause y'all have taken our number of the last couple of years for the state winning in the opening game. Two years in a row, you are just taking my hearts from me. - Do it first game. - Yeah, you definitely are. - Yeah, it's another day, but what kind of day is it really? And the week, I didn't make the cut, but I wanna ask you this because in the practice rounds on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, playing with whoever it was, high-level PGA tour guys. I'm not sure who you played with, but there were certain guys that I played with after finishing the practice rounds and seeing their golf balls in the air and how they practice, and in what my golf ball looked like compared to theirs and being able to kind of play that compare and contrast game. Did you find yourself after your practice rounds playing with whoever you played with feeling more confident about your game and just your career as you look forward? - Yeah, I mean, I was able to play with some pretty cool dudes. I played with Scotty on Tuesday. I played with Brooks and I played with Webb. So, you know, it was pretty cool for sure. I mean-- - Kind of nerve-wracking, right? - Yeah, in the practice film on Tuesday, there were thousands of people watching us with Scotty and I was like, this is unreal. I was like, I'm more nervous during this than anything. So, but it was incredible. I mean, watching him play golf, you know, and he's a big role model. Mine, of course, the way his faith is based and the way he plays golf. And, you know, I asked him a bunch of questions. I was chewing his ear off the whole entire round, basically. - Yes, he should. - Yeah, I mean, it's just, it's just cool. You know, like a kind of seeing in person and seeing what he does and how his feet slide and all these things, like, I mean, he is one heck of a player, but he's also one amazing person. That's what I realized. He's not some dude that is just great at golf. He's also a really good person. And, you know, he surpassed every expectation I had of him as a person and the way that Ted Scott was with in this while, all those guys, it kind of gave me, you know, realizing that golf is not everything, you know? It's just a game when it comes down to it and realizing that we're able to play, you know, week by week and go travel places and play more golf. And, you know, it's just, it's just freaking awesome, man. I mean, playing with Brooks as well, like his, when he walks around, you can just tell that this dude is good. Like, I remember I was walking next to him, and I'm like, dude, like, I just don't feel like I should be walking next to you right now. This is crazy, it's like, you know, it's just unbelievable. Like, all those dudes were just super nice and super helpful with everything. And, Brooks was texting me before the rock and mortgage as well. And, like, you know, they're just very supportive of everything. And, it's been, it's just been awesome 'cause they've just been there for me and helping me out through everything. 'Cause, again, I'm still learning how to travel these places and get my freaking passes for the week and stuff. So, it's like, you know, it's cool. - Did you pick up anything from their games? Just certain shots that they hit that you're trying to maybe incorporate into your game? - Yeah, their wedges are just so good, man. Like, it's unreal. I mean, making land in certain spots within a yard. And, I remember at Tinehurst, of course, like, you can't really miss a golf shot out there. You know, it's like tabletop. So, I remember on the first hole in, like, Scotty, it's just like a little pitching wedge. Just feathers down and fit pen. I'm like, gosh, dude, that was so nice. And then I'm ripping a 54 degree, like, trying to get it out there. It's like, it's one of those things where I realize that they have so much control with their irons. Same thing with Brooks and Captain as well. I mean, Flusher and the golf ball, you know, WebSense and as well. He was hitting, I think it's like the seven wood to the moon just on a line towards pins. And I'm like, gosh, dude, these guys are good. Like, it's incredible to watch. But I think it's also just a level of focus they have and also enjoyment golf. You know, like, Brooks was so calm out there. I know he's been out there for a little bit and having experience and stuff and winning in previous tournaments, but just the calmness of him and telling me, like, hey, when you're after playing, just enjoy it and be calm. Not to really over rush things. Not to look in the future, not try to do any of these things because you can't control it. Only you can control is right in front of you. You know, and like, realizing that, like, it's the truth. It's said a lot, but no one really realizes that, like, when you're out there playing is that you're just trying to focus on every small golf shot. And, you know, it's been very helpful for sure. - Oh, that's really fantastic advice from Brooks. And I can tell you this. I've watched that feathered little wedge shot from Scotty the last couple of years. And these, the three quarter little field shots that he can float in there are just so dirty that people have no idea how good it is. - No idea. - None. It's so gross. And he could, and now he could putt it. And he's, and he's, the underrated part of his game, that nobody really talks about enough is how good of a pitcher he is too. Just can, it can spin it, spin it so much from everywhere. - He was hitting chip shots from, like, sprude places out there in the practice zone, just nipping it to, like, a foot. And I'm like, gosh, dude. - You got the putter out? - Yeah, I got the putter. I'm whipping it up the hill. It's trying to hit it off. And it's like, he's in this flop shot to, like, a foot. And I'm like, gosh, dude, this guy's game. - Oh, man, gosh, that had to be such a fun experience. And playing with Scotty Brooks, and then you go out and make the cut, the US Open. And I think this is a good way to kind of transition this conversation a little bit into what we kind of already talked about a little bit, which is PGA Tour. You got this accelerated program now with PGA TourU. And if anybody's followed this program, it rewards good play for underclassmen. And if you get to enough points, you get it to work hard. And we've seen it with Gordon Sargent already. But then we look at other PGA TourU program, which is Rewards the Best Seniors. We saw now Davis Thompson, who I believe was number one on that list a couple of years back, right? - I think so, yeah. - Davis, Ludwig, and now Thorne Bjornson, I believe we're the three. I'm not sure how accurate that is. It feels right, so we're gonna roll with it. But let's talk about that with how it relates to you, because I think a lot of people, like myself, somebody who follows the game closely, you finish 10th at Rockin' Mortgage, you finish second at John Deere. You obviously finish, I think it was 41st at the US Open. Was that right? - Yeah, I think so, yeah. - So you would have made up to, I mean, we did a little calculation. You would have been right around 96th in the FedEx Cup if you were able to earn points. So you're already well inside the top 125. But how this PGA tour you is structured, it's very interesting to me, because you get a point for making a cut in a major. You get a point for playing in a tour event, for making the cut. And you only get a point, though, for a top 10. The point system to me doesn't really make sense, because it really only rewards someone like who we've had on the podcast, Jackson Koivan, who has had an incredible year, freshman year at Auburn. Similar stats to you, y'all both were the two best players in college golf, but he swept all the awards getting three points at each one and the benchmarks 20. So for you being the guy who probably finished second in every single one of these awards, and then not really getting to reap the benefits of extra points for playing extra well at the John Deere finished seconding, only getting one point. To me, there's just something missing here, 'cause I feel like you only have nine accelerated points, you need 20. But I think the golf world's like, how can we get this guy on the PGA tour right now? So I just want to kind of hear your overall thoughts on all this. - Yeah, I mean, again, it's one of those things where it's golf. And, you know, it's, I talked about it a lot with Dan, my agent, and Jason, my cat. You know, it's one of those things where me and Jackson, again, we had incredible years, you know, as a freshman, what he's done is pretty unbelievable. - It's insane. - Yeah. - Yeah, like there's no doubt about it. I mean, the kids unbelievable golf. And, you know, it leaned towards his way, which was awesome for him, and he deserves it as well. And, you know, it kind of stinks a little bit, just because if I did win a couple of awards, I'd be a little bit closer to kind of getting my card. But, again, I mean, I'm kind of focused, I'm just playing the golf. You know, I think that's the only thing I can control right now, as we speak, is just playing the best golf I can. And, you know, realizing that, you know, my golf game can take care of what I can do, you know, and that's it. I mean, you know, if I go out and play great this week, awesome, if I don't, I don't. But, again, I think just over the last three weeks, it's been just one heck of an experience just to even learn these kind of, you know, playing in the last couple of groups on PGA Tour, and finishing second with John Deere, like these kind of things, like it's shaping me up as a player to become better in the future and understand it more. And the golf world is changing so much. The landscape is a professional golf with a live golf tour and the PGA Tour. And I think the best thing that the PGA Tour has done is enable this PGA Tour U program. But as everything has changed in this landscape professional golf, we're constantly making adjustments every year on the PGA Tour with signature events and always kind of making it make sense. And I think you're the first person to be like, wait, hold on, this PGA Tour U program's really great, but it doesn't make sense right now because this, the point structure and how it works, I still believe that a T2 at the John Deere is not one point, that should be closer to five points. And to me, I think if we're learning anything from this, it's that the PGA Tour U program, although really the accelerated thing, we love it, we continue to support it. We also need to make sure that, that if someone like you comes up, we need to make sure that they're getting rewarded for their good play. So I'm standing on the hill for you, you don't need to say a word, because guess what? I mean, you're making money long-term for not having, being a professional and being an amateur, turning away close to probably a million dollars, but you're gonna make it so much more in your career that it's gotta be tough though, right? You gotta be like, yeah, I wish I'd hit the account, you know? - Yeah. - Did you get caught on with this? - Yeah, it was, it was. - Well, I mean, he even like had he talked about it, but he, you kind of joke throughout me. It's like, before the US Open, we had, we knew we had some exemptions, and he's like, he made it bad, I'll be saying, I'm gonna make $2.2 million by the finish of all my tournaments. I was like, you're crazy, dude. And I think we've reached like, just under a million dollars already. And I'm looking at him and I'm like, dang, dude. Like, this is crazy, you know? Like, but again, we, we finished up the tournament and we really looked at the stats for how much money you make and it shows a big fat zero next to my name. We were just laughing. 'Cause to me, it's like, it's so funny that I'm able to even play with these guys and do these things and like, everyone's telling me, oh, you should have got all that money and all that. I'm like, I'm playing golf to play golf. Like, I'm, it's a blessing just to be even out there playing. Like, people don't realize that I'm still 20 years old as an amateur playing golf. Like, yeah, I competed really well last week. It was awesome, but, you know, I'm not, not probably yet. I'm not even close to that. So, you know, we're gonna see what happens and just keep going with it. - And as an amateur, you get seven sponsors exemptions to your disposal. You got one at the Rocket Mortgage, which I assumed that since you finished 10th at the Rocket Mortgage, that got you into the next week of the John Deere, actually, another thing that we learned is that an amateur does not get the benefit of that top 10 to the following week. So, you have to burn through the exemptions and all this. That's another sticking point that I'm like, hey, if somebody top 10s in an event, they should get into the event no matter who it is. I think Nick Dunlap winning at the MX this year, Thor and Bjornson is a tongue twister, I say it every time, playing well last week as well. And then yourself going and do it two weeks in a row, I just think that that's another one we can revisit and say, hey, if we're gonna have these players come into play in the summer coming from college, let's give them that opportunity to not have to burn through their sponsors exemptions. And if they play well based off merit, let's get into the next week. - That would be great, no doubt about it. But again, it's just unfortunate. I think we're, I think everyone's still trying to learn the game. I think, gosh, dude, we have so many good college players people don't realize it that this generation is gonna be insane at golf. I mean, it's so hard winning college. People don't realize it. Like Ludwig and Michael Dobriornson, Krista Wampet, all these dudes are very incredible. Like people don't, people don't see it yet, but within a year or two they will. And it's like, you know, I think we're still trying to learn the ropes a little bit with everything and the exemptions and all this stuff. But again, you know, like you said, like maybe great to get into next week with top 10. But again, I just, I think everyone's still trying to learn. You know, I think that's, that's just how it is. I don't think they really expected too many amateurs to kind of, I guess, do that. - Well, that's, you know, we got to keep revisiting. We got to keep changing because the golf, we're changing as we go. - We'll see, you know, it's one of those things where I think, I think we're all still learning, so. - My, okay, last complaint. This is my third gripe in a row. And this one goes for the Open Championship. You finish T2 and we didn't really know how it was going to be determined on who was going to be the player that got to go between you and CT Pan. Turned out it was a world ranking based decision and CT Pan gets to go instead of you. That's another frustrating one to talk about. And if I can make any suggestion, it's that there should have been a chip off on the 18th hole. Like any member guests. You and CT Pan in front of the Laney Wilson crowd and just a chip off. - I would have absolutely loved that. That would have been a blast. No doubt about it. I think we should have done it from the Jordan bunker on the right side down to the line. - Oh, gosh. - That wouldn't have been perfect. - No, but I didn't, I'll be honest with you. I didn't even realize this is how out of it I was. I didn't realize I could play for the Open. So when I walked off the golf course, then I was in like second place or whatever. Like one of the interview people came out to be like, "Oh, you might be in Open Championship." And I was like, "What?" I was like, "I don't even have my passport. I don't have anything." I was like, "I don't know about that." So, you know, again, like it's again, I think we're all just still learning to the ropes. And I think, you know, of course CT Pan is an incredible player as well. I think he deserves it as much as anyone else. So, you know, I think me and Michael both finished second as well. You know, it was one of those things where, you know, it's just again, like it's just golf. It's just gonna happen to certain people. And maybe I've got a few unlucky breaks, but again, just keep playing the golf and see what happens. - Well, I'm looking forward to watching you play this week at the ISCO Championship in Kentucky. Another shootout type of event. Have you ever played the golf course in Keenan? - I have not. No, I'm playing tomorrow, so pretty pumped. - Good for you. You got a prax round set up? - I do. - Yes, sir. - Keenan, I'm afraid to roll. - What's the game? - I'm gonna play nine holes with my cat. You probably do a little over under a bet on what I'm gonna shoot on the nine. - There you go. - Probably practice a little bit. And then I've been doing a cold plunge dude every single day. And that stuff is not-- - Game changers. - The whole game changer. - Yeah, I request, I don't tell everyone to do that because that stuff's incredible. I don't think people realize how good that stuff is. - Yeah, how, from your first impressions of being on tour for two weeks in a row, just getting a courtesy car and having the rehab facilities, the workout room. I mean, it just kind of let us know what exactly that experience has been like. - Dude, so back in the US Open, I didn't even realize there was spots for it. So I was just doing my own thing, like I was doing my own thing in my own room. And then at the rocket, I was like, man, dude, I would love like to get some like therapy ton or whatever on my legs. And I walked in there and I was so shy and scared. And I was like, hey guys, like, you know, I'm a player, I'm a scenario chair. And they're all welcoming. And I've been in every single day now since like I think probably Wednesday after rocket. So they all know me pretty well now. And it's like, it's just funny. I mean, like I was so scared blocking and they're just eating ass for anything. So it's like, it's just funny. I'm still learning to talk, man. - Yeah, like even from like dining to being in the workout facilities, rehab facilities at the same, are there any players that you're in there at the same time that you're like, man, I just want to just talk to this person to pick a brain or any good stories that you can recall from that, from those experiences. - Yeah, I think the best one was Airbnb on Roin. I'm a pretty big fan of them. And I remember I walked in to like the gym and I see him and I'm like, damn, there's like a stupid idiot. Don't feel really stupid in here. Don't fall off the medicine ball, whatever it is. And he started talking to me. He was like the nicest dude in the world, just super welcoming. And he was like, hey man, if you're ever down this place, let's play together. And he actually texted me after the John Deere and was like incredible playing. Like, it's crazy to think like these guys like even know my name, you know, it's awesome. You know, like it's, I'm still like a little kid and watching these guys play golf. Like even at the John Deere when I did the, you know, the walk-and-talk with them, like I was literally pinching myself man because I was like, this is like what Roin does this. Yeah, I was like, Roin does this, all these guys do it and I'm doing it. And I'm like, oh, dude, it's just incredible. Like I'm playing golf right now talking to these guys. Like, it was awesome. - Well, man, keep on making birdies. This, none of this is a surprise to me. And this is my favorite part of my job now is I get to watch guys like you at a younger level. I've watched you for three or four years now and I've seen your name and I knew this guy's gonna be an absolute stud. So none of this has been a shock to me. I'm so happy to see you have so much early success, great year for the state and just continue on to a great summer. And after this week of the ISCO Championship, where can we see you after that? - So I get one week off and then I'm going to the three M as well. So yeah, I'll be going there and then USM and then back to class. So pretty, pretty excited. - Back to class, wow, there it is. All right, well Luke, get some must needed rest, have a great week in Keeneland, Kentucky. And I guess go Knowles, I would give it a G-A-U-X Knowles. How about that? - That's fair, I'll take that. - All right, buddy, play well this week. Thanks again. - Thank you. - Reese's peanut butter cups are the greatest but let me play devil's advocate here. Let's eat, so no, that's a good thing. That's definitely not a problem. Reese's, you did it. You stumped this charming devil. (upbeat music) Walmart Plus members save on meeting up with friends. It's fun to be a fly on the wall for that, for a guy that we've just loved watching these past few weeks. And we can watch them this weekend. Unfortunately, we're not doing, we might should be doing one of the done picks for the Isco Championship as well. But we are here now to make our one of the done picks for the Scottish Open. And smiley, the pressure is mounting a little bit for us but you know, pressure makes, pressure makes diamonds. Pressure makes diamonds and the kind that you can cash in on your various sports book apps. 'Cause the heater continues. We were just looking at these standings and laughing for the year. So you had Denny McCarthy last week. You earned 80 FedEx Cup points. You now have 2,880 points, which is, I mean that would put you in, if you include me, you would be fourth. Like if just you, you'd be slotted right between Zander and Rory between second and third. But the unfortunate part of that is I had Davis Thompson for 500 points and I have 4,201 points. So. - How far behind are you of Scotty? - Scotty is, it's 5,700 points and change. - Oh my God. - More than 1,500 points for Scott Scheffler. - To be fair, we started at the Mexico Open. So who knows, you could be past him. - We could be, thanks for that addendum. I don't, it's one of those things where it's like, you can only pick Scotty once and you just gotta just pick him, get to 500 and get out and keep moving. And more, I think we both got more 'cause we have the Masters and players. So. - I have good news for you. - Okay, hit me. - Scotty's not pointing this week. - That helps. That definitely helps. It goes either way, either he hovers up all the points and you get the rest or he doesn't play and you have an opportunity to make some points. So with that said, you chose first last week. - I go first this week. So our kind of flow has been, we talk about a few guys that we really like and we talk about, you know, kind of leading to our pick, right? So I'm gonna give you the three guys that I'm looking at that, what I've, you know, I told you a little bit about the data gut process. Data gut's really getting refined at this point. So it's a little bit of looking at, what are the stats telling me? How are these guys playing? What's the eye test telling me? And mashing that up with some odds and saying, who's kind of undervalued here? Because you're looking at this field and unfortunately for me, you know, I have not used Rory yet, but Xander, Ludwig, Colmore, Kawah, Tommy Fleetwood, those guys are the guys that are kind of sitting at the top of the board and I burned all those guys and wanted them. So me, you and I were both talking. It does feel a little bit like a Xander week, but I cannot take him. So instead, here's some names I'm gonna throw at you. Matt Fitzpatrick going off at 40 to one. I, you know, this is a guy that in the past, he talked a little bit about, you know, maybe doesn't like this style, of course, as much. He actually enjoys playing the United States better, which I think is kind of funny. - That's so odd to me. - It's so, it's, it is so strange. You always have to like not trick yourself into it too much. 'Cause he's a guy that, you know, is, you know, he's English. You think you can play in the elements. He's like, "Actually, don't play in it that much." His form is okay. I mean, T36 of the Travelers, T64 of US Open, not great, but a T5 at the Memorial. And then if you're kind of going back in time a little bit, he was in a playoff and a 2021 edition of this event, also at the Renee Saughts. So he's been in and around it at this course. That means something. And I also think, you know, if we're talking about style, of course, and course fit, this is a modern Scottish course. This is not, this has at least the elements for sure. But maybe this does feel closer to some of the United States tracks that he loves a little bit more than what you're used to, link style golf over here. So Matt Fitzpatrick's guy got my eye on. I mean, I think for him, that feels like a nice little top 20 play, a nice DFS lineup. I don't know if I'm going outright for him on one and done. I mean, I, of course, am not 'cause I'm leading you into my main pick, but he's a guy like, another guy I like to hit the gala at 61. This is, this is a straight. We're taking the date off this one. This is just gut play. 'Cause he's, this is a second straight year where he's gone over and he's gone to North Barrick and he's played North Barrick to kind of get ready for this. I love that so much about him. He's embracing the culture. He's embracing the whole, you know, Scottish experience. So so hit 61 is a guy I could see maybe making some noise and a guy that, you know, look at some of these models, you know, his, where he kind of sits in comparison to the rest of the field is maybe a little bit higher than where he's valued at 61. So he's another guy that like, I think a little top 20 play there could be nice. And then my long shot, Matthew Pavon. And I, we got to give a shout out to our guy, Matt Gannon, who's followed the show, who's active in our chats, who pointed this out that he's, he's playing this event, a bunch as a member of the DP World Tour. And he is somehow going off at 101, which almost feels like a misprint, especially as a guy who is in pretty solid form of labor. We just saw him finish solo fifth, the US Open. Yeah, he was there, dude. He was like, he was part of the storyline. Part of the storyline, follow that up with the T 16 of travelers. So this is a guy that, you know, at 101 could be a very good value play if again, like a lot of these guys will longer odds. It's like you're going to get a nice little value on a top 20 play, you know, or a guy that has a really affordable price in a DFS lineup. So those are my three guys that going a little bit, you know, the big names at the top of the board, but it's Patrick, the Gala, Pavan. Those are the guys I kind of like, but I'm not picking this week. So I'll kick it over to you now. Who are some of the names on your short list? Yeah, and interesting on Sawhith too, just to point out, I love how creative he plays and in Link style. So I do think that I like that matchup with Sawhith. Depends on the wind. Yeah, North Barak, I see the North Barakat. I love it, Charlie's playing creative. If you didn't know, coming back to absolute, just 90% humidity golf, just point and shoot golf. So no more bumping runs. Yeah, no more bumping runs. No more 30 mile prior wins. The other thing I would just about Sawhith, I wanted just to touch on is that you guys like Sawhith that are trying to make their first president's cup team or just first international team. That is something you have to keep an eye on for the players that are on the bubble. You see players rise to the occasion, you see players fall. So that would be my only thought with Sawhith is this is the time of the year where you're gonna see either guys go one way or they're gonna go to the other. And Sawhith is in that position being kind of a bubble boy at the moment. Yeah, I think it's well said and I think that's a little bit of foreshadowing for the guy I'm eventually gonna take, given his position this season. So before I get to that though, so you have a handful of guys, three guys that, you know, they could be some good value play. So who you like in this week, but not taking for your one and done pick? I am going to continue to bang the drum. I eventually got you on the drum. You suggested it the last couple of weeks, but I think too many people are giving you credit for like discovery here in rye. I've been on this guy. Similar to the Jake Knapp situation. This got to get in there when you need to get in there. I'm gonna come back to Aaron Rye for this week. And he won this event in 2020. So that's already check that you got a player that likes the golf course that he's playing at. And this course being there last year and walking around the ground, it's getting a really good sense of how the course plays. It's a very unique Tom Doke golf course that there's Fescue off the fairway. So you have to drive it well. But the greens, there's some elevation changes that are very big with kind of some falloffs in some areas. Humps and bumps on some greens make it very difficult to get close to the hole. So I put a premium on how well you can hit your irons this week and actually Justin Ray out of this incredible stat when it comes to the Scottish Open this week as I'm gonna continue to produce and give you the status we go here. So players who finished in the top 10 at the Scottish Open last year gained 43.2% of their strokes with approach play. Significantly, significantly higher than the season average for top 10 finishers, which is at 34.4%. All that to say is Aaron Wright to me is a ridiculously good ball striker and a very good approach iron player. And when I read that stat, I'm like, God, that's like Scotty Sheffler, right? So he's like, no way he's not finishing top 10. So I guess if you're Scotty Sheffler better and want to weigh the Jews probably on a top 10, you're probably taking a pretty good bet there. But an air ride by the way, 45 to one. I mean, again, you get some value on him, but that's at that level. - You keep down air and rye. You keep down air and rye. He's gonna pull the trigger and win one of these. And another note with Aaron Wright too, with playing a John Deere, a hot, humid place, he's built with the two rain gloves. Now he's going to the Scottish Open, which is also built for rain gloves. We're just taking him where the rain gloves take us, which is hot and humid, to now like wet conditions, cold hands, rain gloves and rye. - I love that so much. I actually only, I pulled out the rain gloves once on my Scotland trip, press week. It was like raining sheets. By the time we put a teeny ground on the first hole, it had passed, but I pulled out the rain gloves. My dad took a picture of me. It was like fresh off, picking him at the rock and mortgage. And I'm like, nice little homage to Aaron Wright. And then I put those rain gloves on the top of my bag and then went out to North Berwick later that day. And it was blowing like 40 and they blew away. I don't have rain gloves anymore. So it was a failed attempt to pay homage to Aaron Wright, apparently. - I love it. Well, let me get to my next two, before we get to our one and done picks. I'm gonna go, my next guy's gonna be Seabes. - Christian Bizeti. - Yes. - He's a player that hasn't won this year, although he's gotten 500 FedEx Cup points for his win at the American Express. Although Nick Dunlap, an amateur one, he got all the points. But let's not look past how good of a year this guy's had. He's, I believe in the top 25, top 30 in the FedEx Cup points for a player who was not in the top 50 coming into the year. So he's arguably played the best golf of a player of something who was outside that top 50 coming into the year. And if you look at data golf and just his stats, he hardly has any week where he has just one part of his game that's off. He's consistently good in every aspect of his game. And in talking with his Caddy, this was on a flight home from the last event we were at, this would have been, I believe maybe the US opened or the Traveler is one of the two. He said, man, he's playing such good golf and he's so close to winning. And to me, that was like, all right, I'm gonna keep that in the back of my head. And so of course, I'm playing it, giving you that advice the first week in which C Bez is playing. So taking that with us, the next guy I got is Thomas Dietry, who I've been very high on Thomas, pretty much his entire year. He's had success on this golf course too. 2021, finished second. 2022 10th last year, you made the cut. So he's got some success on the golf course. He's a guy that's had a type of year where he's, he's put himself in contention multiple times, US Open, PGA Championship to name a few and he used to open almost got it done. So Thomas Dietry, that'd be the last player of mine. - I love both of those. And again, just to kind of hit you with some odds relative to the rest of the field where it is a little bit, it's more of a top heavy field than we've seen in previous weeks despite the absence of Scotty Scheffler. You can get C Bez at 61 and Thomas Dietry at 75 to one. Those are outright odds, but obviously those trickle down to some pretty good odds. If you're trying to make a top 20 play, DFS lineup type situation, I know I keep banging that same drum, but again, you can get some value there for guys who should theoretically play well at this course. So love both of those. This leads us to our one and done picks for the week. I'm going with the guy. You talked a little bit about this was to hit the goal of. Guys, that you're getting to that crunch time of the year where you're trying to, you know, whatever your goal is, if you're just outside of it, you really got to make a push and play good golf. And we talked on our Monday episode about Memfully sitting right just outside that top 50 cut line to get in all the signature events for next season. And it feels like that time of year where Memfully finds that extra gear and goes out and it gets his first PGA Tour win. He's going off at 30 to one. I talked last week about Davis Thompson looking for a run of form. If you're going back to the Masters for Memfully, he's got a T 22 at the Masters. T 24 at the CJ Cup, Byron Nelson. T 26 at the PGA, T 24 Schwab, T 21 US Open. And then it's he too at Rocket Mortgage. He's like, he's been in and around it and he's trending in the right direction. He is one here before. I believe it was 2021 when he got when he got a win here at the same venue that Renaissance. So this is a guy that I just feel like it's, it's, it's just about time for men who to cash one in. And he's been playing, he played some great golf at the Rocket Mortgage, had some great chippings coming down the stretch but just couldn't get the job done. It feels like another one where we've had a few consecutive weeks where it's time for a guy to step up even in a stronger field and get it done. So I'm, I'm rockin with men will lead this week. I think it's time for him. Love it. Would love to see men move, get the job done. Especially get that first win. He's, he's so easy to root for. And in doing these one and done throughout the year, you know, you kind of use the day to golf model as long as you're gut and then. That's actually the day to cut. And I think the other thing just to add into that, that we've kind of been able, and maybe this is just that gut, which is looking at players who are on this type of streak and trajectory that are leading up to a win. It's, we typically don't pick a guy that is just coming off of four missed gods. Like we're going to try to find guys that have gotten in position into final groups and seen their name on the top of the leaderboard, like, oh, good to see that guy again. And then you see it week on week and you're like, okay, this is guys having quite a good summer. And for me, that player is Tom Kim. And I thought about saving Tom Kim for, if he was going to play a Memphis, or excuse me, a Wyndham, he's won there, but even a Memphis is a really good golf course for him. I thought about saving him for that week, but this week just makes way too much sense to not take Tom Kim. You know, he finished second of the travelers coming off just a crazy week. I didn't had, I think being the betting favorite, the rocket mortgage, he was either going to be one way. He was either going to go out and win by four, or he was going to show up and just be, you know, not have the same energy from just a deflating playoff loss to Scotty Sheffler, ended up missing the cut. So we're just going to just chalk that up as a, an energy didn't have it that week. But second of travelers, we're talking memorial, he got in contention, didn't have a great finish. 43rd, U.S. Open found himself kind of out there, T26. And then you can't forget the Canadian Open at T4. So Tom Kim for me, and then we look at the course, has he had success there? Yes, 2022 finished third, last year finished sixth, and was in, I believe, close to the final group. I know he was in there one of the two days because I walked with this group, and he didn't have a good Sunday. I think he shot three over on Sunday. Still finished sixth, I believe he played with Rory, one of those rounds too, so. - I think it was Sunday. - I think it was Sunday. - Yeah, I think he made a little bit of a mess at the 18th. If I remember that correctly, Rory was waiting to finish. - He was funny, he was funny. It should have been better than that. So there we go, Tom Kim for me. It just, this seems like the right pick. Tom Kim to win this week. And it's interesting too that we both are picking two players that are potentially most likely going to be on that international president's cup team. And they're looking probably for a guy just to supply it himself is like, who's going to be the leader, the dark horse, the guy that's going to be the captain of this team, of the guy that you could send out against Scotty Sheffler. And I think both of these players have the talent to do it. And I think maybe getting a win at a big event like the Scottish Open could be, yeah, it could be great. And I did mention Scotty Sheffler top 10ing this week. And I just remember, I was like, wait, no, he's not playing this week. I totally, my brain's a soft ride. Sorry about that earlier. He top 10s, even when he's not playing. That's how good he is. Yeah, that's how good your hat is. I would have picked him to win this week. (laughing) API Scottish. He does it all. I love the Tom Kim pick so much. 'Cause this is like, this is Tom Kim season. This one, when we flipped the calendar over to July, July through August, just feels like when Tom Kim plays his best golf. Like it was, you know, a couple of years ago when Scotty was like those early months of the year, like this feels like the time of the year when Tom plays his best golf. As you mentioned, has played great to Scottish. He, you know, played great at the Open last year with like a, you know, poor Ligman is ankle, wherever the injury was. I mean, hobbling around, still playing good. He does great and a sort of an odd flip of the Matt Fitzpatrick discussion. He plays great at lengthy style courses in the elements. So I think this is one where I could easily see Tom getting it done, and to your point, for both Tom and Mimely. Like I love the President's Cup synergy there. International team, maybe we'll have a little Instagram live playoff situation. And really, really good for us. We're due for another good week, because why are we do? Because we deserve it. Because we pick one on us. We pick one on us. We pick what is, and we pick what is our idea. So there you go. So, so smiley's got Tom Kim this week. I've got Mimely. You can go back and run through the rest of the names that we liked this week, but those are our picks. And let's hope we can keep caching tickets. So best of luck. And yeah, this, I guess this also wraps up the episode. So I hope you enjoy the Luke Clant conversation. We appreciate you watching and listening. The next time we'll talk to you, we'll be recapping, Scottish Open. So we will see you next. Reese's peanut butter cups are the greatest, but let me play devil's advocate here. Let's eat. So no, that's a good thing. That's definitely not a problem. Reese's, you did it. You stumped this charming devil. Well, Mark Plus members save on meeting up with friends.
