The wise men:
Stopped
Observed
Understood what they observed
Moved on what they understood
Went on a journey to Christ.
They were WISE + WILD.
Wild without wisdom = foolish
Wisdom with being wild= cowardly
God is looking for those who will stop and see what He’s doing and move. Take a journey
(upbeat music) - So I wanna look at Matthew chapter two. Last week we were in Matthew chapter one. And so as the conclusion of this series, we're now in the second chapter of the book of Matthew. And I have a short message. I'm not gonna preach long tonight, but there's so much here. And many of you have heard the story of the three wise men, but I wanna read it in its totality so that you could hear what the Bible actually says and compare that against all the plays and all the dramanizations and everything you've seen. And then you'll realize that a lot of what you think you know about the three wise men is actually fiction and not what's in the Bible. So let's look and see what's actually in the Bible. Is that all right? Okay. Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea and the days of Herod the King, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem saying, "Where is he who has been born king of the Jews?" For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him. When Herod the King heard this, he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. They told him in Bethlehem of Judea and so it is written by the prophet. How many of you know that God never does anything without first revealing it to his prophets? How many of you believe that there are still people with prophetic gifting today? How many of you believe you don't have to go to a psychic because God's still speaking to his people through the Holy Spirit? Okay. And so I wanna invite you next week is going to be Sabbath Sunday. Sabbath Sunday is a Sunday that we take off once a year and we don't serve at our local campuses. We don't serve coffee, we don't serve in production. We don't serve as greeters, even though how many of you are grateful for our entire dream team? Can we put our hands together for our dream team? But we just take a Sunday off. So I will tell you, if you come to any one of our physical campuses, you will be all by yourself.
