What has actually grown my business over the past 12 months? Today we're talking about refining my team structure and giving clearer direction, to investing in community through events like ON IT.

I dive into the power of quick decisions (a fast first yes, followed by an intentional no), building strong relationships, and focusing deeply on my area of expertise. I also talk about getting braver in my messaging and allowing my productivity to ebb and flow instead of forcing it.

If you're looking for more aligned, sustainable growth, this episode is for you.

Welcome to a very special episode of the podcast because when this is coming out, it is not only my birthday. I will be turning 28. That shouldn't have taken me time to think about. I'm turning 28, but also that signifies a birthday for the business as well. Truthfully, I don't know the exact date that I started running my business. If you're familiar with my kind of origin story, I was very much an accidental entrepreneur for the first few months. I didn't even know what being freelance meant when I quit school, quit the job I'd quit school for in order to then go on to do, well, not what I do now, but the freelance job I did at the time that then snowballed and changed and developed into the business that I have today. So because I don't have a specific date, I just know that it was like a few weeks or months before my birthday. So simplest way to see it is that I just see it that the business's birthday is the same as mine, which technically now means that I've been running a business for over 11 years. That feels crazy to say out loud. I started the business when I was 17. And if I'm now 28 and my math serves me correctly, that is 11 years, which is absolutely wild because I never intended to even start a business in the first place to have now had one for over 11 years, just feels crazy. Although I'll be honest, because there's been so many evolutions and iterations within those 11 years, it hasn't felt like that much time. I was actually speaking to someone at an event last week. And they were like, so what's your what's your background? And I was like, well, the business is my background. Like, I spent maybe nine months working straight from school when I quit at 16. And then that was it. And that job was in events management and running a Christmas grocery. So I'm not sure that background is very relevant. I always feel like the first like five or so years of running this business, like, was my background, like that first five years where I was a social media manager and marketing strategist and kind of freelance consultant in the marketing world, like that almost feels like the kind of first business that I ran. And then I guess how it started to then evolve into what it is today of more business strategy, goal setting, helping people to kind of connect the dots between the bigger vision and their daily action. You know, that wasn't like an overnight shift. That took a good few years, but that almost feels like the kind of second era that my business has existed within. So whilst 11 years, I think sounds like a long time, it honestly doesn't feel it because there's been so many kind of smaller seasons within that even like the season of business that I'm in now kind of feel like I've only been in it for like a year and a half because almost I see this current season as when on it launched for the first time and that just completely changed my business model and my lifestyle and like what the business is capable of doing. And so yeah, I feel like time is a funny thing in business because it goes quickly, but then also it doesn't actually feel like that much time even when you reach a milestone like 11 years, but that was a complete ramble. I didn't intend to give you that kind of spiel, but clearly that was on my mind as I start this episode. I thought I would do an episode today that kind of links with the fact that I'm entering a new year in my life and in my business and reflect on the last year of business and what I feel has helped my business to grow in that period. I love a bit of reflection. I feel like that is one of the things that I'm a big advocate for is taking a moment every now and again or just however often you feel prompted to to step back and reflect. I really believe that our businesses are full of lessons, but we only will pick them up if we take the time to look for them and to physically gather them. You know, there's data everywhere, right? There is learning everywhere, but actually our ability to benefit from that comes from our willingness to step back and reflect. So whilst I love to think on just like a daily and weekly basis, like what's going on in my business? What's working? What's not? What am I learning from this? I feel like a milestone like a new year or a birthday is a really nice opportunity to do that too. And why not bring you in on that and share with you my reflections of what has helped my business to grow in the last year. As I was writing this episode, I came up with seven. I'm sure there's more that I could add to this list, but these really feel like when I look at whether business was a year ago versus where it is today, the seven things that I have done, the seven strategies that I've followed, whether intentionally or not, that have really led to the business's growth. I guess probably a good place to start is actually
