[Music] [Music] Hello everyone and welcome to "What the Folklore", making sense of "Sense's Tales". I am your storyteller, Carmen. I'm Gordy. Do you want to name this week and a function? - Yeah, always. - You got both, I think. Well, the name and function that just came to me was "municipal Ronnie". I know everything about municipal regulations in the state of Massachusetts. I don't go to other states, so don't ask. - Just Massachusetts? - Yes, and again, my function is only to know them, not to do anything with that information. I just want to be very clear about where that obligation ends. When one day soon, computers just tell nothing but lies back to us. - What do you mean "what if soon"? - Well, when that really just tips into an unusable percentage. - Yeah, I feel like that group of con might have been crossed already. - Right. We're going to need human repositories of all of our most important information. - So, what has drawn you to all the municipal codes? - I did. They're just important for everyday life. - What's your favorite municipal code? - My favorite municipal code is the many regulations governing the shape and size of sewer drains in Massachusetts. - Well, that tracks. - And the siren that is underneath each one. - Does the siren go off if the shape or size gets off code? - It goes off every 10 seconds so that people know it's there and don't fall in. Actually, actually, most municipal codes are kind of just about the different noises that sirens make to tell you where stuff is. - So, the place where you live is just a soundscape of warnings? - Yes, I would call it a cacophony in symphony. - It's like fucking who, Bill? - Who was who, Bill, filled with sirens? - It's just filled with noise, noise, noise. - Uh, was it? They were singing, right? - Well, that's also, that's a different kind of siren. - To, yeah, that's a great answer. - That's a siren call they sing to bring Santa to them for another year. - Oh, God. That's a dark take on who, Bill.
- That I kind of like, because there's a society just singing a siren-like song that Santa can't resist. - He has to come every year to who, Bill? - Every year, he comes and brings them more stuff and he doesn't want to. - He gets as far away as he can, but as soon as they've woken up and they've seen under their tree, that's why it doesn't matter that there are no presents. That's, and they sing. The Grinch took the wrong lesson from that. He thought it was all good feelings and family is important and whatnot, but no, they needed Santa back. They wanted him back right now. - They need him to come again so they can lay eggs in his eyes.
