What's up team Zach Evanish here and welcome back to another episode of the strong life podcast. This is going to be a quick Short episode as it's Sunday got a lot of work to do. I want to spend some time with the family I want to get fresh air and I want to get right to the point So in this episode, I want to talk about why some people are not winning and why they're stuck. This goes for athletes Coaches even parents, you know, why are you not winning? Why are you not going and getting? Above average and I'm going to explain why in this episode. So let's go Welcome to the strong life podcast Where we talk about dominating in strength health business and life And by the way, if you're a parent out there and you've got a teenager get over there and see Zach Talk about being jacked up this place is jacked up and ready to go. Oh, he's a he's a trainer out of New Jersey First of all, let me let me just congratulate him on his badass name. That's a great man What's his name again? Zack Evan Ash Evan Ash Evan. That's a pretty nice man All right team, so I was thinking this morning as I've had conversations With a lot of athletes and parents recently, especially with High school strength and conditioning starting up and September always marks kind of a new year It's not just January 1st that the New Year's marks September 1st is essentially the new year and These conversations bring about people talking a lot about their goals and what they want to achieve strength coaches especially coaches with families start talking about now that my kids are back at school I could do this I could do that and And it just doesn't work that way when you're waiting for September 1st or after Labor Day It doesn't work where we're going to achieve great success when we wait for any date, right? I'm waiting for the new year to start eating better and waiting for the new year To start my training program. Well, what if you know, what if you could just start right now, but it's not perfect And when you do that you have consistency and consistency is such a massive factor For the entrepreneur for parents and of course for athletes, especially high school athletes But also at the division one level, you know division one level. We're certainly getting a genetic Genetically advanced advantaged athlete. We're getting a higher skilled athlete We're getting an athlete Who has very likely put in a lot more work than the average, you know next year? My daughter will be at a division one University and it's not odd for her in the summer time to be trained four or five six hours You know four hours of tennis an hour of strength and conditioning three days a week Running on her own Doing a lot of extra work, you know, sometimes I see her doing yoga in the mornings just working And so when I look at what my daughter might do in a day, it is more than what many do in a week All right, and so I equate that kind of success or that kind of commitment to And I parallel to what coaches need to do entrepreneurs need to do So when a entrepreneur strength coach tells me It tends to be a lot of men, okay, but some women reach out about their stranding conditioning business But it's interesting men talk to me about what they want to accomplish the business they want to start or the business they want to grow and Then when we break down their daily habits their daily actions their weekly actions I basically look at it and say you're actually barely doing any work here. You're just getting by The seat of your pants. You're not doing anything different You haven't changed your habits and your actions not just for a few months, but for years And it's very much like a high school athlete seniors Every year come up to me and talk to me how this is the year. They're gonna make it happen Coach tell me what I need to do to make it happen and I say well I love you and I'm gonna tell you the truth you need to do Everything I've been telling you to do for the previous three years And then I know I know I blew it and I say I'll be lying to you if I tell you that you Can achieve three years of missed missed work and cram it into these first three months and be ready for a winter sport Or even a spring sport six months. Okay, you're playing baseball your throwing shot put You got six months from September your basketball player your wrestler and you want to be this dominant wrestler All of a sudden, but you have barely showed up to the weight room and here's why Whether you're an athlete whether you're a strength coach entrepreneur and even parents. Here's why you haven't done more because you Love comfort you love comfort and you don't mind losing it doesn't really really bother you to be average you will not Have any pain from regret and you don't want the pain of discipline and doing work And right here. I'm looking at my to-do list and there's things that have to get done and I will not allow myself to go to sleep unless this work gets done and sometimes that means staying up late Sometimes or oftentimes it means waking up early yesterday was Saturday. My daughter had a tennis tournament We were leaving the house at 7 40 a.m. My alarm was off at 5 40 on a Saturday morning to make sure I could get in an hour and a half of work before we left because things have to get done and so You have to really ask yourself. What is stopping me and a lot of times? There's just no pain involved if you fail You don't have your back against the wall and then on the flip side Some people don't have pride. What's really inspiring me? It's not making more money. I love making more money That's a side effect of what we're trying to do here But we're trying to be like the leaders in our community in our small town So anytime somebody thinks about getting fit for themselves as adults underground strength gym anytime somebody has an athlete Who's in middle school or high school? We want them knowing that you go to the underground strength gym And that is a mission now for us to really be the dominant force in our town small little town and to be leaders and crucial aspects of our community and I remember hearing this 12 13 years ago Maybe longer could have been oh nine maybe 2010. I held a mastermind and I had Quattro deuce speak Quattro deuce comes to all the events He's a beast former Navy seal Leadership expert his wife will be speaking with him at underground strength con Andrea Who owns two coffee shops? Million dollar coffee shops. She's also a world champion masters weightlifter They're beasts and I remember Quattro deuce telling me In his town. I think it's more considered a city of Alexandria, Virginia He said I want to go to the supermarket and I want everybody's mom sister brother aunt wearing a trident Athletics t-shirt. I want people to think Fitness and they think try to you think coffee you think misha's coffee in town. You think an awesome environment awesome atmosphere you think supporting a small business misha's coffee and Why do some people never get to a place where they are top of mind? And the reason is you deliver an average result and an average experience And if it's not great And it's just good enough. I've said it so long good enough is the death of greatness And so I think it all starts with your mindset Then from your mindset and the attitude you need to reverse engineer how to get where you want to go And that's why I I'm going to go over this Uh during the underground strength con. What is my daily and weekly checklist? How do I reassess the goals and the things I've accomplished or any of the markers I've missed Joe de Senna will be a speaker at underground strength con Can you learn from the most blue collar guy who's got a company that has spanned? I think 40 countries Wait till he discusses what he would do to build a local business. It's going to be extremely powerful And Joe is the ultimate doer. He's the ultimate worker And how do I learn this whenever i'm doing something with joe in vermont there's never one thing going on It might be the spartan wrestling intensive camp that i'm up there helping but then you got the death race You have the kids death race then you have employee meetings from spartan and he brings me and gets me involved with all of them but he never just does one thing and it's the uh His philosophy, I think there's that book called uh, what is it called ready? Normally we would say ready aim fire. He says fire ready aim like just start just get going But that's what most people won't do They will not go They will not get out of their comfort zone of sitting behind their phone And watching youtube thinking that's the way they're going to grow their business and increase and improve their network Okay, improve your network. You're going to increase your net worth because you get to start doing things with those people Business deals will be made at the underground strength con A big goal of mine is The speaker is coming together all crushing it I want them to meet one another and have at least one Partnership come out of that experience So every strength coach and sport coach that speaks and we're going to have a um Wealth management advisor. I want everybody to walk away Winning not just the coaches who are attending but the coaches who are speaking And that's another thing I do with my business And with training teams with training athletes is How do they increase their network? How do they get around? Smarter people people with great attitudes and we all elevate each other And so why are people struggling? The answer is Hiding in their basement hiding behind the computer hiding behind the phone Okay, high school athletes are busy watching Videos of bodybuilders when they need to be watching the underground strength show and putting in that kind of training And getting away from The regular global gym where the majority of work they do is sitting or laying down on a machine That's comfortable. And so I've said before comfort is the enemy I would read a review. We have not had a review for one month.
