Hi, I just want to jump in with this quick interlude to let you know that the episode you're about to watch, it was created through the holiday season. And I don't want you to think that it's irrelevant today. I want you to recognize that the information in that health hack can actually apply all year long. So tune in, have a listen, and figure out how you can apply it in your life. Hi, Melissa Deeley back again, my second week of talking about managing holiday stress. And that's because it's such an important topic. It is for many the most joyous season of the year and yet it comes with so many stresses as we try to get everything done. So today I want to talk about your calendar and controlling your calendar instead of letting your calendar control you. At this time of year, there are more invitations than at any other time of the year. And while it's wonderful to be invited to different events, sometimes it can simply be overwhelming and just too much, and you can't do it all. So I really want to invite you to look at your calendar, pick the events that are meaningful to you, that you can attend with people that lift you up, that bring you joy. And perhaps there are events that don't bring you as much joy. Can you politely decline? Can you go for less time just claiming that you have, you know, you're busy and you have another event that night and let people know you're only stopping in for a short amount of time, so that you can protect yourself from getting burnt out from getting into that place of overwhelm. And you can start to say yes to you. Maybe you would just like some time for you. Maybe you need more time to be wrapping Christmas gifts in advance. But you have the right to say yes to you and politely decline other invitations. So choose to exercise it. Don't feel obligated to attend everything, because that really does land you in a place of stress. Comment below. Have you ever politely declined an invitation before? And, you know, did you feel good at saying yes to yourself as a result of doing that?
