Welcome to The Checkout. We catch up with previous guests of Add to Cart where we ask them five quick questions to understand more about them and leave you with a little extra inspiration to get through your Friday. Today's Checkout Peaches Anthony Napa, founder and managing director of Ozhair and Beauty. Anthony started Ozhair and Beauty by buying it off his dad for $12,000. Today, they turn over in excess of $50 million a year. Anthony, I've got five quick checkout questions for you to reveal a little bit more about yourself. We'll get straight into it. Number one, what is the weirdest thing you've ever bought online? Beef jerky. And not only is it the weirdest thing, I buy it every two weeks. I'm an email conversion statistic because all the emails I get, codes, everything. I'm a beef jerky member. Do you have a supplier of choice? jerkyco.com. Okay. They're either in purpose, can be a little bit annoying because I'm in New South Wales, but they're the best, best beef jerky ever. At least the beef jerky is well and truly dried out by the time it gets from Perth to here. Exactly. Number two, who is your favorite retailer? My favorite retailer, and it's as much as they sometimes do compete with me, catch of the day. And maybe I'll be biased because I've read, after reading their book, I just think they're, I think it's beautiful. I love their concept, how it started and they just went into everything and easy, simple. There's no bullshit. This is the product. This is the price. Take it. True retailers. True retailers. Yeah. They're not worrying about all the things that can all the retail. This is the product and this is the price. Here you go. It's interesting what you said then around becoming competitors because they've definitely upped their brand game, haven't they? They have. Yeah, it's, there are a bit of pain in the arse, but still, still. Still got a lot of trouble. Still, yeah, it's it. Awesome. Number three, which retail fad do you wish was history? Honey, the promo codes, every time, look, it's probably a great look at consumers, but for us sometimes, there's promo codes that we've got that disabled and someone's getting 30% off that would have already purchased without the 30% off. Do you have an active strategy for managing that? Yeah, like every coupon code now has to be targeted and with a clear expiry date and has to be to certain customers. And that's how, I'd say you combat that. Yeah. And do you do that through emarcies or through Shopify? Through Shopify. Yeah. How I found out was we sponsored a soccer team, a local soccer team, and we had a coupon code, you know, San Susie 15. And we found that we looked at it like, well, 600 people who use this coupon code. And then we realized people from Perth, Darwin, Tasmania, and we realized, honey got to that. And then that's what opened our eyes to it. Yeah. Nice. Okay. Number four, can you recommend a book or a podcast that our listeners should immediately get into? Catch of the decade, by far, put it as a needle you mentioned in. I was about to say, can you not give Gabby another plug? He's plugged in enough on this show. I've never met Gabby, but I think he's hilarious the way he's plugging his book on LinkedIn. It's the best. It is generally, if you're an e-commerce website, if you're an e-commerce founder, you need to read that book. I got inspired by it. Maybe sort of similar story to brothers. You know, that had the technology bricks and water stores. I relate to it a lot. I think it's the best e-commerce story in Australia. It is a great book. You can see it on the bookshelf behind me. So it is a brilliant book. Number five, finish this sentence. The future of retail is a strongly demand for quicker, same day delivery. I really, I think it's like in America, we're not, I don't think we're there yet, but people want two, three hours and maybe our resources in Australia aren't capable for it yet, but it doesn't mean, you know, as people want it, the Australia approach will definitely deliver it. And other career companies, yeah. What's the quickest delivery you offer at the moment? We do same day delivery, but because we only have one warehouse in New South Wales, only to New South Wales. Gotcha. So that, yeah. Thank you for joining us on the checkout, Anthony. Thank you, Nathan. To hear more from Anthony, jump back into episode 50, where we discuss how starting on eBay gave
