With the Adventure Beckons resting just outside of town, Nicky, Elena, and Veile have traveled into town to complete two important tasks: Recovering a gem sold by mistake and reconnecting with Thelonious, member of the Luminaries, to find direction on where to go next. With new connections forged, they return to their ship (and its captain), and set off into the skies, where dark clouds gather on the horizon…

Perpetua Guide [In Progress v.061] Random Encounters - [PPRE] Sky Encounters

Once you've got yourself the Adventure Beckons, you're able to travel from place to place on Perpetua's Sky Layer. And that means there's a whole new pool of Random Encounters. I've gathered some of the ones I've seen here, but I'm just getting started. Let me know any others you've hit and I'll try to find them and integrate them!

Barnacle Cloud [REBC]

You'd think this only triggers when you fly through clouds on the map, but it can happen anywhere. This is a mini-game, but bad enough performance can eventually make it a combat encounter. Elena is your best bet on this, because she can just toast them with fire magic. But if you use Nicky, you'll end up with some useful ingredients!

Valte Wreckage [REVR]

These you can actually spot on the ground and trigger on purpose, though what you can't determine is which "Valte Wreckage" encounter you'll load into. Most of the time, the wreckage is a fortress the Valte wrecked with their airship bombs. Sometimes, the wreckage is one of the big V-wing Valte ships itself, crashed in the ground. And in both cases there's a chance that you'll trigger an actual fight against Valte soldiers once you land and hop out of your ship!

Balloon Festival [REBF]

Over friendly territory, you can sometimes load into another mini-game. Well, I guess it's a mini-game. It's a "Hot Air Balloon Festival," and you can customize your the Adventure Beckon's big blimp-like balloon. Then you can see a sort of wide angle shot of it floating around with the other, regular balloons. Why would you do that? Um… Just cause, I guess?

Valte Boarding [REVB]

Some Valte board your ship and depending on when it is in the story (and who you've upset), there's a chance it turns hostile quick. And let me clear up some confusion: This is always a possibility. It's just that the closer to the Valte archipelago that you're flying, the more likely this one is.

Kleye Glider [REKG]

This is basically a duplicate of the Kleye fight you can get between Calstega Bay and Spillwater Peaks. I don't know how they're shooting clay pirates up high enough to hit the airship, but they're doing it. Worse: the more that get on there, the lower the Adventure Beckons gets, which makes it even easier for them to get more guys onboard!

Draconic Eagle [REGE]

The way you load into combat and the unique music starts playing, you'd think this was some sort of bonus challenge boss… But it seems like it's actually a puzzle or something? I managed to Scan it once, and it starts in Crisis, and within three turns, it always flees. Maybe there's an objective action you can do?

luminaries to keep us from stopping the cycle because he's really attached to the cycle and it seems that both of them are working with Cal's Caligenia but Caligenia seems to support my my my efforts in in seeking the cycle to stop or at least she's bound by her authority to you know behave as she should during the rituals so it's all quite confusing confusing you seem burdened by a great fate well yes she shakes her head you know all I can say and I know we differ in our beliefs and in our devotions but in this I think there is a similarity between the dragons who we watched for for so long and you're any add their strength is in their singularity do not do not abandon yourself do not defer to another your decision whatever it may be guide yourself to the solution I think I understand good luck and be in touch we will I think she turns to Bula and nods and says you are warden to a being like no other safe guard him with your life and Bula goes, I got it, I don't know, Bueller is a little in shock old cows have disappeared and also you know I don't want to get to into Bueller's head here though I though I did kind of signal this last time like Bueller thinks the world's gonna end any day now yeah yeah yeah that's true so like yeah I can take care of the cow until we're all dead in a week or whatever you know Bueller is this sort of apocalyptic remember like believes the clock is wrong and all the cows just died oh yeah and all and some of the stars just went out remember so like Bueller's like oh yeah all this about like the cow like yeah it's all done man also you know even the stars going setting aside the stars coming out as well like the amount of signs and wonders where like a drunk woman just descended from the sky and was like you have a special cow yeah yeah sorry yeah what she basically heard like safeguard this cow for the next two months or whatever until the end days that we're all gonna get a blitz yeah and and I think you was like alright I'll make sure that it's in the big shell when it's time to go in the big shell you know yeah yeah and then in 2000 years or whatever it's gonna be like the beginning of the 5th element except it's gonna be a cow in there instead of Lulu oh okay wow good old Roger multi-pass you want to head down into spillaway peaks all right you show up the energy is a little weird here for the reasons I just we all just talked about and for the cultural reasons that the terrifying are the people who believe that there must be some way to carry stuff over from one cycle to another and have been working at you know that we've talked about rehearsal we've talked about them like getting ready to like sing their songs at the end of time you know and so like there's daily rehearsal now instead of weekly rehearsal you know you see people moving through the streets at like a slightly quicker pace there is a sense that the world is picking up picking up in pace here do things get cheaper because the end is coming or more expensive because people are expected to spend all their money all old old or different because do the charpines take that money with them into the shell that's a great question I suspect there's some divide around that um I think that it's probably seen as like a little venal to bring your money with you into the shell they don't necessarily correct me if I'm wrong about this Dre they don't necessarily feel like I'm going to get reincarnated into the next world no no it's more like we can send we can send you know something into the next world maybe we can send our eggs into the next world there's some sort of like continuity available but it's not like burying yourself with your money to go to heaven with it pretty go into the afterlife with it you know it's not that it's it's so I think but you know I'm not saying no one does we all agree you can we all agree you can you can it should do and should and also that's why you should build me a giant monuments you can pull all my cool stuff in there and my cat you know yeah I think that that's I think that that's um the vibe general I think I think Jack that particular question probably a bunch of different responses though um you know I bet uh there are probably people who are like I still have to buy groceries you know uh so I'm not going to not sell my sword at dirt cheap prices or whatever um but I bet there are people who are like the place where I think it's probably gotten I bet no one is like hey you know I need to chip in for gas money right now uh or like for um yeah and maybe that'll shift again if the world doesn't end next week you know maybe that they're sort of like okay we're still kind of waiting um to it all but I think this sort of like hey it's fine you don't have to pay me back for lunch you know brother it's the end of the world yeah exactly I'll get I'll get dinner you know you can get it next time instead of let's split the bill tonight you know uh I think in those interpersonal ways in in spillway peaks things have gotten a lot less um yeah yeah a lot less mundane in that way we're too first shop first well you need the money I don't want to get the money money getting out of character well I do think like I think in veils head like I have to join the luminaries is like the important thing yes um so there's that but I do think that we should donate that money to the like spill away peaks clay ridge like response fund or whatever again we still need to buy the gem back I know I'm just saying I'm just saying the world might be ending but we're still trying to it's like I get paid for our time also we don't think the world's ending exactly exactly wait all right so then to the shining star I think so yeah let's do it all right you arrive at the shining star
