We're continuing and, from what I understand, hopefully ending soon, a series on the resurrecting the rest of life. And the really the idea behind the series is that the resurrection should impact really every part of our existence. And as human beings, it's really actually easy for us to make separations between what happens here and what we think of as the sacred and then out there what we think of as the secular. And the idea behind this series is that when Jesus was resurrected, he didn't just resurrect our spiritual life. He resurrected all of life. In fact, all of life is spiritual life. And so we have to think about things like rest, like work, like parenting, like all these things that we do day in and day out as part of our spiritual existence. Now the good news for me is that Neil and I, we like to do a little tag team thing. And if you've seen NCIS or any of those law and order type shows, you know there's such a thing as good cop and bad cop. Neil's bad cop. So last week, he got up and he's like, you should start running, yeah, get out there. Stop eating so poorly, like take care of yourselves, you animals, that's sort of Neil's gig. He hits some of those types of things. He's like work harder a couple of weeks ago. You're not producing enough. And so I then get to come up and talk to you about fun, which is really fitting because I'm a super fun guy. And I love to have fun. Actually Neil, he wanted me to do the, this is the sermon on taking care of your body. And I was like, yeah, that, no, that, you should probably have someone with experience I hit that. It's so funny. We think about what we do, we play, right? And we think that play is just, that's our thing. That's what we do. We just have fun. And it really, you know, there's church over here and then there's play, there's fun. And that's something that we just do. And it doesn't really, how are they related? That's what we'll talk about today. But in order to understand how play and your spiritual life are related, we have to start at the end. And that is in heaven. We're going to have to understand what, a little part of what heaven is like in order to understand how our enjoyment, our fun, our play fits in to what are our spiritual life. And so I'm just going to throw out a few of the descriptions that we get in Revelation 21 and 22 for what heaven, what the new Jerusalem is like. In fact, I would even suggest to you that heaven is almost a misleading term in our culture because when we think of heaven, we think of clouds and we think of, you know, harps and whatnot. And really, when we get to Revelation, we find that heaven is actually a very physical, very earthy thing.
