(upbeat music) - It's August 1st, 2018. I get a call from one of my investigators. Said we had a shooting victim on Sunday book drive and it didn't look good. (upbeat music) - From county 9-1-1, where's your emergency? - I mean, yes ma'am, I actually did. And my gun was tapered and I'm so sorry. I just saw my boyfriend the night. - I'm just sorry. (dramatic music) - We actually had the perpetrator admitting to shooting the victim on the 9-1-1 call before we even arrived at the scene. And she told us she did it. (dramatic music) - Are you serious? - Ma'am, please bring someone right now. - I am there all the way. (dramatic music) - And why is that? - Look at me and demon, look at me. Look at me and demon. I'm Lieutenant Chris Wilson. I was the first investigator to rival scene. - What kind of gun was it? - It was a gun, what do you think? I'm just grabbing it, I just, I don't know. There was one in this segment. I'm just grabbing it to bring it to our face. - Basically, we had a young man down, not responsive, and also a young woman who was frantic, very emotional. So he was just pleading for help. (dramatic music) - Well, come on, calm down from us, calm down. (dramatic music) - The gun going off, I don't even see how it even got him because I wasn't even really pointing it directly at him in the first place. - I was able to look over any type of evidence, any type of forensic that could have been involved. Trying to make sense of what might have happened in that living room that night. - I'd like to be a fighter here. (dramatic music) - I knew then that we could be possibly looking at a homicide. - Did you have the right for my sound left? (dramatic music)
