(upbeat music) - Welcome to Pot State of America, I'm John Favera. - I'm Dan Faver. - On today's show, Dan and I dig into the annual Thanksgiving mailbag to answer all your midterm questions and more, or to quote Dan, the episode where I reveal which book I read here. (laughing) - We are all winning with bated breath. (laughing) - I had to really think about it. Anyway, before we start, the crooked store in Cricut Coffee just launched a huge Black Friday sale in time for the holidays, we're offering 25% off site wide with code save25. And since we have a very important runoff on December 6th, we'll be donating a portion of the proceeds to Vote Save America's Every Last Vote Fund to ensure that every single person who wants to vote can have their voice heard and get people to the polls. Off runs Monday the 28th, so head to Cricut.com/Holidate to shop and learn more. All right, let's get to your questions. Evelyn2 asks, can we say now with relative clarity which voters surprised us and move the midterm results in Democrats' favor? Was it young single women? Gen Z, Black voters, et cetera? Question mark. - No, we can't say that yet. (laughing) No, we can't, I mean, I just, I mean-- - Next question. - Yes, I mean, we have exit poll data, which is pretty flawed, particularly when you get down to subgroups with a pretty monumental margin of error in those subgroups 'cause they're so small. So with the honest truth is we do not know yet which groups really both outperformed in terms of turnout and outperformed in terms of support. So we do not know the answer then yet. There are a lot of people with a lot of theories and thoughts on whether we're gonna end up being right, but we don't know with precision the right answer to that yet. - Can I just say though, I'm gonna defend the exit polls here 'cause I didn't fully realize this until I dug in. Do you know the Edison exit poll which is what the networks use? That did, they did 20,000 interviews.
