To celebrate the 100th episode of Know Your Enemy, Matt and Sam decided to open up the mailbag and field listener questions—which, as always, proved to be incredibly intelligent and interesting, with topics ranging from what they've learned along the way to the politics of guns. Plus, past guests from the podcast stop by to offer their commentary on this auspicious occasion.

Oh, right, Samuel, should we go ahead and get started in this very special 100th episode of Know Your Enemy? Yes. Of course, calling it episode 100 is a little, I don't know. It's one reason I maybe haven't taken the 100th episode more seriously than I have as a true benchmark because people have commented, haven't you guys seen way more episodes than 100? Yes, we have, but we only numbered the free-for-all in front of the paywall main episodes. So this is the 100th of those, which is an occasion we did want to mark this, so we do have a special episode cooked up. Oh, yeah. Mostly we're doing a mailbag, and we got an enormous number of incredibly good questions from our Patreon subscribers. We were gonna put the signal out on Twitter so more of you could submit questions. But unfortunately, for those of you who do not subscribe, we got too many good questions from Patreon. Like literally in the hundreds. So just to say, if you want to make sure your question is at the top of the queue for these mailbag episodes, say for the 200th anniversary mailbag episode, you should make sure to subscribe on Patreon. If you want us to open up the mailbag, open up your wallets. That's good. Well, I should say, Matt, it's not only a mailbag episode because I have something that is a little bit of a surprise for you. I know. I'm putting this up behind the scenes. I don't want to give it all away, but basically I asked some of our friends in the extended KYE universe to contribute some audio to this, our 100th episode. Now a little peek behind the scenes. I did mention to you a few weeks ago, oh, maybe we should get, you know, some people to call in for the 100th episode and say what they like about the podcast. And what you said to me, I think the word you use was, I think that would be too self-indulgent and too self-aggrandizing, and my thought was, when has that ever stopped us before? And so I decided to go behind your back and solicit these messages from some of our friends, which we will play for the listeners benefit. And for your benefit, because Matt, you can tell them now, you have not heard any of this. This is true. Scout's honor. I have not heard any of the clips Sam has collected for this. And I would say too, I should say, not only was I skeptical of this for the recent Sam just mentioned, but maybe most importantly, he said, Sam, that seems really complicated, which is I think a little window into our personalities. Yes. The other reason I took this upon myself is that Matt's birthday is also tomorrow. And so there is also kind of a birthday theme to this episode and to at least some of what we got from our friends. This is all to say that this is I think the right way to get you to listen to a lot of people compliment you is just to do it without your permission. And I do want to add for our listeners September 17th, my birthday tomorrow, that's also Constitution Day.
