The author of Hebrews takes us to Genesis 22 and God's testing of Abraham by asking him to sacrifice Isaac. This testing is to show that Abraham lived by faith, in even the deepest of trials.

By faith, Abraham bore up under severe trial. By faith Abraham gave a difficult obedience. By faith, Abraham received important blessings.
