Hebrews 2:1-4 "Beware of Drifting"

The author of Hebrews takes a break to give us the first of several warnings that can be found throughout the book of Hebrews. This is a warning to avoid drifting away.
By comparing the revelation given by prophets and angels to the revelation that has come to us through the Son of God, we can also see that the danger of ignoring the revelation of salvation in Jesus alone comes with a harsher, just punishment. Drifting away from the salvation brings eternal consequences.
To avoid the danger of drifting away, the author of Hebrews calls us to “pay more careful attention” to the message of the Good News. We do this by knowing the Gospel, by seeing the proofs for the truth of the Gospel, by linking the Gospel to the attributes of God, and by making sure that the Gospel is changing our lives.
