The arrogant have chosen their own path, a path not defined by loyalty to God and His word. As they walk this path, they persecute the psalmist. He has suffered the persecution for longer than he can bear. In surprising honesty, the psalmist brings his pain and suffering to God with the prayer, "Help me!" The psalmist finds that GOD'S WORD IS HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS.
