It’s a pleasure to present ‘Take A Deep Breath’ by Mark E on his MERC imprint. Mark E has long been a favourite producer of mine, and favourite DJ since I saw him at Thunder in 2014. From making edits in his early days, the underground DJ’s DJ and one of kind producer has gone on to release on some of the finest labels on the planet like Spectral, Running Back, Delusions of Grandeur and of course his own label MERC. But what has always been clear about Mark E is that he is a producer without any desire to sound like anyone else. Here Mark E returns to MERC for his first physical 12” release in 7 years on the label. Giving us four tracks of unswerving deep house goodness that sees him explore the underside of house music, evolving his sound into deeper searching electronic territory, pursuing a rich evolving journey along the way.
